Fruit beans in incense
By: / Beginner

I've been wanting to create my own incense blend for a while and have been researching ingredients for it. I know that the peels/zest of certain fruit can be used in an incense blend, but what about things such as coffee beans and cacao beans? If I were to, for example, dry a few ounces of cacao fruit and grind the beans into a powder for the incense, would it work (i.e. not congeal into a liquid and produce smoke)? Do cacao beans even have magical properties, besides the effects on the mood it produces when you consume processed chocolate?

Thank you in advance for reading through this. Blessed be.

I don't make my own incense [the whole thing intimidates me honestly] but it should be fine. Make sure it's ground down so it's not a giant coffee bean on an incense stick. You should research the item, not only magickal property but if it's safe to burn. The final thing I'd consider is how it smells when burned.

With that said, I can tell you coffee can be used in spells to add extra energy [like how caffeine wakes people up] or cleanse negative thoughts and cacao would be for grounding, prosperity and ancestor work [all forms of chocolate have specific properties]
