Very interesting, does French Catholic Folk Magic have any roots in the practices of pre-Christian Celtic France?

It seems to me more related to Italian Folk Magic.

The Roman Catholic Church is prominent also in France.

My grandmother was French Catholic and held many customs central to Catholicism in general.

There isn't a lot that differentiates the two.

Thanks for the information. What role does the archangels and the nine choirs play in French Catholic Folk Magic? Is it similar to the role of the fairies?
