reading for yourself

Can someone relate to this? Whenever I do a reading for someone, I'm certain about the things I say, I'm confident with my cards, I love telling them about their situation etc. but the second I try to do a reading for myself I go into this mode of manipulating the message, I just look at the cards and I feel like I can't understand anything. but then I give my friend a quick reading and suddenly it's like I'm sort of some messenger and all. I'm even thinking about offering a mutual reading session with another reader on this site...Does someone have any solution or do I just need time? Have a nice day

It can be difficult to read for yourself. It can be a challenge to remain unbiased and intuitively open.

Honestly I have never had trouble reading for myself, yet I started this way, reading the cards for myself.

I recommend practice, and patience and trusting the thoughts that come to you, and writing your feelings and such about the readings down in a journal. For example say you get a thought like, "I get the feeling I may go out soon." Write these thoughts down if you can.

Other than practice if you feel reading for yourself to be very difficult perhaps letting another read for you can bring fresh eyes to the situation.

If you have been practicing reading for yourself for quite a while a break may help as well. Giving it time and then coming back to it later.

I find a lot of the problems with doing readings for oneself is having to deal with expectations, preconceived notions, hopes, wishes, and other personal biases. When you say you go into a "mode of manipulating the message," I think this is entirely such a thing. It's not as easy for some people as it is for others, but I believe letting go of personal biases can be done, as well as overcoming the subconscious desire to show desired outcomes regardless of what cards are drawn.
