Unfortunately, as fascinating as it is, Telekinesis (along with pyrokinesis, electrokinesis, psychokinesis, tele-mechanics, hydrokinesis, etc) is one of those things outside of the realm of real possibility.

In my youth I had a real fascination with the idea as well, but anyone that had claim to such abilities has been solidly debunked as the realm of showmanship.

In the 80's, such ideas were the hot topic of the paranormal week, similar to how 'ectoplasm' was the hot thing of the late 1800's and mediumship in the early 1900's. Of the lot, only mediumship has survived debunking, though you still have to be very careful on who to trust as there are many showmen and fraudsters out there.

The simplest experiment to test proper telekinesis is to have a lightweight object isolated on a pedestal, covered with an acrylic or glass box that has enough seal to stop air from moving inside, and asking the telekinetic to move the item without touching the box or table. (Some have the object resting on the table, others have it suspended by a thread).

Movement is typically attributed to a combination of precarious balance, airflow (breathing generates air movement that pushes at an object) or even vibrations carried from the floor, bumping the table, or the heartbeat/pulse of hands being laid on the surface nearby.
