I recently had the oddest thing happen, I would like others opinions on it.
My partner does a lot of reading and research of the demonic plane and how resides there, but not practice this area of the craft. And can be sometimes overprotected when I look into or read the topic, purely out of the potential dangers it involved. So our study/library is littered books of the craft, crystal, creatures, angles , demons and of course the internet. But when comes to reading up on demons, I am told to be cautions/careful.
Well one late night, we have no power(Load shedding it a thing here in South Africa) and I decided to read a book on demonology that haven't read yet. I got to around chapter 3 detailing the Hierarchy and who they are, my cat Nyx just out of the blue came and sit directly on top of the book in such a way I could not see single word. I thought maybe she wanted attention so I put the book away to give her some attention. And she just left the room to go sleep on her bed.
So I think it was her way to tell me that I was not ready to read to book, or it was the wrong time/place to read it. Any though or similar experience will be helpful.
to answer some questions that may pop up.
1. No my cat is not a lap cat and she loves her own space.
2. No she is not my familiar and I do not see her as familiar or a potential one, as I have one already for childhood.
3.Yes know cats like to jump onto tables and desks, but she not a jumper even after giving her chances to do so she refuses.

Based on what I know, spiritually-attuned creatures are cautious beings. Animals such as cats have been known to be greatly attuned to the spirit world.
And demonology has many dangers in it, so perhaps the cat is warning you to tread carefully here? It likely senses malevolence from the information you're reading about, and worries about you. Maybe that's the reason?
Or it just wants to play. You said there was a power outage. I'm assuming you use a candle or phone light to read. Maybe the cat is scared and wants to stay close to you because of the dark room.
