Yes, it does. It works with all sorts of plants it's up to you to try and find what the plant or tree like the most. This is done through your own attempts and listening to your gut feeling if the tree or plant says like music more then you talking to them.

Hi Dragonearth,

I'm very interested in connecting with tree spirits, what kind of things can you ask a tree for? Would u communicate with them like with deities? Any guidance would be very appreciated! Thank you :)

In my experience I do. I give them that respect and space. Sometimes you are just called to a tree that wants to work with you like a deity calling to you. Trees have their own from energy each one of them different. You might want to research on how that plant has helped the human race to get to know that energy. You really shouldnt ask a tree for anything if you dont know the energy very well. Their fairly shy. Like getting to know people it takes a while to form that bond. Late reply, I didnt see this post above until recently.

I love this post DragonEarth.

This isn't exactly how I work with trees and plants myself, but it is lovely.

I love working with plant energy. It's a very simple and beautiful relationship. It isn't I find as demanding as some deity work.

Thank you for this posting.

There is a willow tree in the town I used to live in that I have a very strong connection with. I refer to him as brother willow and I still make it a point to visit him every time I go back to that town. I used to remove energy blockages as he was dying for years, but I am glad to say that the last time I saw him, he was looking great and even had a bird's nest in his branches!

They also like to be hugged.
There is a tree, a lemon eucalyptus, that I have formed a strong bond with. It, like you mentioned, was great for grounding and I could feel anxious energy drain away from me and down the trunk, into the earth every time I laid hands on it, hugged it or placed my back upon it.
It got me past a tachycardia attack once. I was hiking near the tree when the attack started, so I went and hugged it. It took, some time but the attack eventually resolved. Usually I would have to go to the hospital for a chemical cardioversion, yuck I hated that.
This tree hugged me back the first time I hugged it, and never had I experienced such love coming from a tree. At that first meeting I also put my ear to the trunk, where I could hear a tapping or knocking sort of noise, still wonder what it might have been saying. In the many times I've been there, I only heard it knock one other time.
Now I miss that tree after all this talk ! It is on the campus of a large college way in the back where no one goes and I don't go to that school anymore, but I can see it from the road and frequently drive by and wave to it thru the fencing.
Trees are so amazing.

In order to bond to something on should learn to see the world through their being, while observing them carefully. Plants evolved after bacteria, archea belonging to the aucaryota branch of the biological tree of life. Humans tendency to assume that other biological beings function as we do as separate units. Plants certainly do not. They have very strong symbiotic relationship with some bacteria, certain fungi and insects. They mainly react to electromagnetic band of energy. Especially, blue and red band from the visible spectrum and some violet. They reflect back most green light, which is why to us they appear green. They evolved to utilize mainly the red and blue light for energy production. Then, they roots are sensitive to earths gravity and any source of water. Seedlings will mainly point their roots towards the centre of gravity. Humans have long used tree branches to locate water. They will naturally ground any form of electricity through their roots.

Trees or any plants do not have sense of hearing. They cannot hear you talking or playing any music to them. Sound travels as mechanical wave through the air. Plants can show some sensitive to some vibrations, but hearing any music is a bit of stretch. They communicate using certain chemical compounds and via the mycelium network.

Your best bet for communication is actually physically touching them, so that your electromagnetic field mixes with theirs. We are all electromagnetic beings existing in the electromagnetic field of the planet. Your second next best bet is charging your water with your energy or with the sound of the music. Music can be used to raise your state of consciousness.

I read somewhere that talking to them and leaving gifts of silver and tobacco are good to help that relationship. I don't do too much green witchery, so that may be something I read in pleasing the fae
