Maypole for a solitary?

I am a solitary witch but I really want to incorporate some form of a maypole into my Beltane ritual. Any suggestions?

You can create a miniature version with a phallic shaped item and at least eight lengths of ribbon, any colors will do but traditionally red and white. It is difficult but one can interweave the ribbons with the same over under movements that occur while dancing. Erect the pole to a round surface that the ribbons may be attached to in a circle around the pole but also removed and reattached. Like cardboard with straight pins. Secure the ribbons at the top of the pole and thenaround the base having them alternating red and white. Then move the ribbons under and over their neighbors with the whites going clockwise and the reds going counter. You will want the reds to all be moving together going over and then under just as the whites will be opposite them.

Many Beltaine Blessing!

Love the idea KTS. I've always wanted to dance around a maypole but never had the chance.

I'm not a good dancer [honestly feel self-conscious dancing] but I try to dance with a ribbon on Beltane [at the very least my cat enjoys it]

Usually, I’d go to someone else’s Beltane celebration and participate in their maypole dance (we also have maypoles for weddings and other celebrations, so I’m not terrible at dancing) but this year I just found a stick, tied some ribbons to it, and proceeded to fail. So no maypole for me. The cardboard idea sounds pretty cool, though. I wish I’d thought of that.
