Dream Interpretation

Hi.

I've had this dream a month back and it continues to be at the back of my mind.

I post only in the hopes of releasing the feelings associated with the dream and to possibly illuminate some underlying meaning.

I was dreaming of walking into a house. While entering there perched on the porch was a stick pole with what appeared to be an eagle skull perched atop. I found this menacing and was fearful of walking by.

The scenery shifts as will happen in a dream, and I am standing at the bottom of a staircase. At the top landing is the pole with the eagle skull atop. Again there is that menacing feeling and I am fearful of attempting to go up the stairs.

I wouldn't have posted this dream but the feelings are still clear, and the dream still pops its way into my daily thoughts.

Any ideas on interpretation?

I have a general idea on some of the symbolism but can not share here more private aspects as it involves my path directly.

I have a strong desire to protect some of the knowing my path involves as the knowledge is considered sacred.

Any help with this?

Eagles are a symbol of honor, power and majesty. They are also predators. You feared the skull, which means an eagle died. Perhaps, something that protected you has gone, or will go? The house, likely another sign of protection, yet once again you feared it. The stairs, going up, possibly means you will rise with what you fear.


This isn't anything but me trying to make sense of it as if it was my own dream. I wouldn't suggest taking it seriously, as I'm not a dream teller.

I see stairs as challenges when they appear in my dreams. Perhaps you have been offered or will be offer to do something of a next level of learning on your path, but your fearful of going through with it. It could also be you working with a spirit or someone alive that your a little caution about and feeling as if theirs a distance between you.

The eagle may also be trying to tell you to see things from a higher point of view, to understand what may be the root of the challenge or the problem. It being dead could be you blocking that ability. Due to fear of being judgemental or another emotional outlet.

Houses are often protection as you normally should be feeling safe in your home, but being fearful inside a house. Could mean you may have negative energy about causing the fear. Again it could also symbolic you blocking or pushing out someone help and you not seeing the full picture of what may be happening.

You being fearful in a dream could also mean your unbalance in terms of emotion. Fearing success in your life.

Dreams are difficult to read since it's always up to the person that had the dream to see what it means to them

Usually when I have dreams like this one with strong feeling within it be it good or more negative feelings, they are closely tied to my spiritual path.

The last I had of a similar nature was a great positive dream of the spirit of the rain forest as I've come to call him. Very path based.

I practice a very shamanic form of witchcraft.

I feel the dream concerns the theme of personal power so to speak hence the eagle.

The house is a current issue for me as I'm currently seasonally nomadic. Living in a warm motel room during winter months, and moving off to a camper on family property during the late Spring through to early Fall.

Both places considerably small and close quarters for multiple people.

It's been a rough couple of years.

Thank you both for the fresh viewpoints on this dream. Protection too is a real current life theme. Especially with the motel living. Not so much an issue at the camp.

You're afraid of reaching a higher potential. The house represents yourself and your soul. Eagles are symbols of majesty and power, but also concern, and since it's a skull [a symbol of death and fear as well as intelect] I feel this is some type of anxiety surrounding wisdom, intellect [study] or spirituality. Stairs also represent this. Climbing stairs shows assertion to new things, while the descent is running away. Standing still is fear of change. You have something in your waking life that deals with the mind or spirit and you're avoiding it because you're afraid of how you'll change by pursuing it. [not just your change. Say it's going to a university out of state, you could be worried of losing friends if you go to this school]
