Greetings to all.. I am new here and I need help to understand magic more and learn how to cast a spell effectively.

The best way to learn is get a few books and read. It's hard to reach people over the internet,you may want to visit a local witch store and see if they have events or classes. Good luck!

Various spells work best with a variety of methods. Read up on spells in general and you'll gain a basic groundwork for spell casting. Then, if you have a particular spell type in mind, research more on how that specific one functions. Make sure to use a multitude of sources and see which seem more accurate and which have overlapping and reliable information.

If you already have a specific type in mind, maybe posting that and what you already know can help us give you further guidance.

I'm going to give you a list of esoteric exercises to strengthen your ability. Other than that I suggest you study because there are no shortcuts to magic and you will not get immediate results and many things will remain out of your grasp.

Meditate daily
Do daily visualization practices
Dedicate an hour to practical mechanical studies ((things like geometry, science, math, physics. Things of this nature))
Develop self anyalsis and honest self communication to determine your true desires and act upon them. Study psychology if this part is hard
Dedicate daily study((more than just an hour)) to esoteric practices and understanding.

Find a good instructor. Some good questions to ask would be.
How do rituals work?
What is the importance of symbolism in esoteric workings?
What is your background in the esoteric arts?

These are important questions to ask as they give you a fundamental understanding of your teacher's background and magical philosophy

Do this daily for a year
