Chumbley definitely was on to something, his magick was very unique and individual and Azoetia reminds me of Austin Osman Spare's work with his alphabet of desire. I liked the book, but I think it is a difficult read and I think Chumbley was purposefully superfluous and verbose in order to cause some confusion in his readers- the craft is for the wise after all.

My favourite work of his is the Dragon Book of Essex, Qutub being a close second.

I agree that his writings are quite difficult to grasp at first glance, but as you said yourself a person needs to work for it.

I never had the pleasure of reading the Dragon Book of Essex, been looking online if could find it but it's quite difficult.

I too love the works of Austin O. Spare, I certain see his works as a way to manifest the unveiled.
