Patron and Matron
By:
Hello!
I've been having something happening with me for maybe a month now and I'd appreciate help - I'm being reached out to. Thing is, I'm not used to having any gods/goddesses trying to contact me, and here I am receiving an invitation.
I tried to ignore it at first but it's like I'm not allowed to forget. Again, I'm not used to this sort of thing so I'm kind of nervous about it. I'm trying to be open to receive "messages" but I don't really know how to do that. Would anyone be willing to share suggestions on how I should handle this? How should I open myself?

Some people get contacted through dreams and visions, some through divination and others through feeling a close connection at a spiritual level. I see you are feeling that your connection is one of a patron and matron pair. I would think from personal gnosis that it would be Frey and Freya. They were considered the lord and lady by many of the ancient Germanic tribes. Tomorrow being the feast of Freyfaximakes this to be perhaps coincidental.

To open yourself for further exploration, perhaps leave anoffering to them outside and express your wish to interact with them and learn more. Traditionally, we bake a bit of bread from our grain harvest and give thanks that it was bountiful. Get good rest and have a clear mind when you sleep. Make an effort to be receptive to any kind of sign that they send you that they are interested in a relationship.

Before this year, I hadn't really bothered to accept a deity into my life of any kind. To be quite honest, the thought was still very iffy to me, and I was hesitant much as yourself.

Leave an offering, let this deity know that you're willing to work with them. But only do so if you're comfortable with it. You can say no. But the best way in my own personal opinion and experiences, is to calm and center yourself beforehand, maybe meditate if you feel the need to, and open yourself up to receiving this deities messages/guidance/etc.
