Orphaned Mother

Hello,
The last of my family died in November which was my mother. Excluding my children of course. All are living but one that I lost 4 years ago. I have been taught a small amount of Wiccan from my mother, and my grandmother was american Indian. She had a mix of her tribe's beliefs with the Christian beliefs mixed it. Which was interesting, to say the least. LOL. From that, I was taught a small number of things. Grandma grew up in a time where she had to hide where she came from. She passed for white. So, she would not discuss many things about her heritage. It makes me very sad, but it can not be changed.
My daughter came to me recently and broke the news to me that she was a "kitchen" witch. I apologize. I don't know what that means. I say broke the news because her father is a very traditional southern baptist. She was terrified I would not accept her. I, of course, told her how much I loved her and was happy as long as she was.

I have felt for some time myself a pull toward witchcraft. The journey I am setting out on is finding my way with my child and correctly guiding her. Thus, in need of a healthy knowledgable guide and coven myself. I hope I have given enough detail to help one know my intent. thank you for allowing me to be a part of the forum here, and apologize for my ignorance. Side note, I am sensitive. I have denied that for a very long time now. The reasons are because of the views of those around me growing up. So, I have been working on my abilities and exploring how far I can go with them. I do see and hear from the other side. I have made accurate predictions. I don't know alot of the technical wording for the things I do, but ask me and I will tell you specifics if you wish. I also had an NDE I believe has a lot to do with my abilities. Which I won't bore you with. I have done my best to put down why I am here with complete honesty, I hope that garners respected and my lack of knowledge forgiven.
Thank you again.

Welcome to SoM. It's a good community, with people who practice a wide range of traditions, including different paths of witchcraft. So feel free to ask around. You'll hopefully find some pretty good book recommendations from those who follow paths close to your own.

Hi adrift, and welcome to the site! In the herbs section of this forum should be some great forums and I know there are plenty of good books on kitchen witchcraft. There's a facebook group as well, if interested. I'm very glad to hear that your daughter has a loving mother who is even remotely interested in guiding her. Accepting the both of you and your journey is a good start. Check out some of the covens here, there might be one with just what you're looking for. I wish you and her and your family the best of blessings and good luck with your journeys <3
