I'd disagree with spells that use modern language being fake. Unless one understands Latin, it doesn't make sense to use it in a spell. Nothing wrong with using Shakespearean English, either, as long as it makes sense to you, but there's nothing inherently better about a spell sounding archaic (besides, Shakespeare was modern English, so not especially early as far as the history of the English language goes. Granted, it was early as far as modern English goes, but it wasn't Beowulf -levels of early English). Again, if archaic -sounding language or Latin is something one fluently speaks, it can absolutely be used in a spell, but using a language that one doesn't understand will.probably just make your spell not work.

My general rule (and this is loose, so there may be some things that don't fit) is that if it can happen in mundane life, magickcan achieve it. People can get jobs without magick, so a spell could make the chances of doing well in a job interview greater. People can increase their confidence levels, so a spell could help with that. People can attract romantic partners, so a spell could help someone be more noticeable in that regard. Things like shapeshifting and flying and mindreading can't be done in the mundane world, so there's no way for them to work magickally. Again, loose rule of thumb, but it can help figure out whether a spell is plausible.

I agree, mind control.... No one can make you do or say something unless YOU allow it. (Per si) . Here let me use an apology: you really can not feel or tell someone what it's like too drive if you yourself has never even driven!so unless you know from your heart you will NEVER know real from fake.

A lot of people have a problem believing in something they can't see, feel, touch, whatever. That is where faith comes in. Just like the belief in a God or angels or a higher power, you can't always see them. But your belief and faith tells you they are real. I think magic, real magic is the same. You have to believe in yourself,in what you are doing or want to do to make magic work. It's not the stuff you see in movies and on tv. If it goes against reality, it's not real. You can not transform your physical body into another animal or creature. You cannot teleport yourself. Basically if it sounds too good to be true or something out of a fairytale, it probably is. What it can do is teach you to open your mind and explore and enhance gifts you may already have. There are so many paths to follow. Don't be in a hurry to find one. Take your time and learn all you can. My main path right now is herbal medicine and healing. I'm also an empath and can sense spirits, ghosts. With those I'm just trying to better my shields. Good luck in your journey. This is a great place to begin.

I also disagree with spells having to be in an ancient language most people don't understand. It's important to speak in the language you understand while casting spells to ensure you don't say something you didn't intend to say. Translators can only work so well before a mistake is made
