Hey everyone! Thinking about doing a scented candle offering for Disablot. Thoughts? Would unscented be better? Thanks in advance!

I don't know much about Disablot, but I'm pretty sure it'll be okay if you do it either way. :)

The Disablot celebration is intended to honor the feminine entity or spirit. Depending on your path, it could be for a female goddess or goddesses, land spirits, ancestors or even elves, dwarves or familiars. It can also be all inclusive.

The Disir are feminine entities and the Blot is a sacrifice. Disablot is a ceremony of sacrifice and offering to the Disir. What you offer is not important. What is important is that you offer something of yourself in their honor that is a sacrifice. In short, you give something that you really need or value.

You could offer a ceremonial meal consisting of the finest foods you have in your pantry and fast yourself for the day. You could offer your candle and go without light during the night. The possibilities are vast. Think about what will work for you and how dedicated you are to your intention. A blot is a sacrifice. If you are truly a believer in what you are doing, make a meaningful offering. Only you can know what is appropriate.
