Coven limits?

Does a coven consist strictly of Wiccans or can it also be used more loosely to describe a group of magick practitioners? I'm asking this mainly because I'm curious about the limits of a coven and if it is contradictory for a secular witch to join one. Thank you in advance!

A coven can be any group of magic users that meet regularly. It doesn't even have to be magic related according to the Merriam-Webster definition, it's: " a collection of individuals with similar interests or activities -a coven of intellectuals."
