Do you mean Pan as in the Greek God?

I have read claims before that some group has supposedly managed to kill (as in utterly destroy) some god, and the group insists that the deity's followers are no longer able to commune with the spirit.

In every case, there are still followers of that god who have a successful practice, and experience no change.

So I must ask: Why would you think any spirit is dead?

Yes I was talking about Greek god pan. I think I read somewhere that A guy named Thamus said that Pan was dead if I am not mistaken. I also read some say that Pan is dead due to coming of Christianity, people forgot Pan. When people stop believing in the god the god dies(I have just heard about it once).

Ah, but a lot of people believed in the existence of Pan even after Greece became Christianized. And many people today still believe in him as well.

There are those who also say that the God of the Christians is dead as well. But there are millions of Christians who say that is not so.

The Immortals was a total bastardization of Greek myth. According to Greek beliefs about the gods, they cannot be killed. We see this demonstrated throughout mythology. Kronos could not kill his immortal children, so he ate them and they grew up to adulthood in his stomach until Zeus cut them free. In the great battle between the Titans and the Olympians, the Titans were not killed, but defeated and imprisoned in Tartaros.
Prometheus had his insides eaten by vultures for thousands of years without dying because they would regenerate again and again until Heracles finally rescued him. That movie is so riddled with inaccuracies, it almost shouldn't claim to be based in Greek myth.
Zeus would never set a law prohibiting interference in mortals lives (he did so himself quite frequently and actually had a lot of fun messing with mortals, as did the other gods).

Totally agree with all the other answers.Personally,I don’t think Pan is dead. They can't die per say, but they can fade away if forgotten. That's what keeps them alive, they live on in the memory of mortals.

I don't believe he died... It wouldn't be easy...
