First, what method are you using to attempt astral projection? Your body has to be in a very rare in between state to successfully achieve astral projection. You have to be in between sleeping and being awake, because of this it is best to set an alarm for 3 in the morning (the witching hour) and stay awake for fifteen minutes so your mind wakes up fully, after this lay back down and let your body return to sleep while staying awake. There are very helpful guides astral projection videos on YouTube that can help.
If astral projection is too difficult you can start with etheric projection, which is close to astral projection except your body stays awake so it is easier to achieve.
Anointing yourself with lavender oil (especially your third eye) will help tremendously, as well as having actual lavender around. You can light a purple or blue or white candle with the intent of having it help you on your quest to astral project. Crystals will also help you, there are many that aid astral projection but a few are peacock ore, amethyst, and clear quartz. All of these things can be found online.
Here is a little known fact. Both mugwort and wormwood (herbs) contain thujone. Both of those herbs are legal worldwide and are a mild hallucinogen. Either of those herbs can be smoked, made into a tea, used as an incense, put under your pillow or consumed as an extract to force you to enter a lucid dream state while you sleep.
It is also important to remember to clear your chakras regularly and make sure they are balanced, that will help with astral projection.
