How to make a magic wand?
By:
I know a wand is not necessary but I have been having trouble casting working spells lately, and I know that a wand helps with that. I know that I can just purchase a wand, but I also know that there's more power in it if you DIY it. Yes I'm aware I just 'said' "do it yourself it". I'm sorry this is so long, but I want to get everything out of the way. Thanks, –BabyBlueEyes

You can make your wand out of whatever you like. Some use certain woods, metals or crystals that are associated with what the wand will be used for. You can then cleanse and bless it for the task you wish to use it for. I often this by passing it through incense smoke, sprinkling it with a small amount of saltwater, and then saying a small prayer or chant over the wand.
I use a wand made of Sycamore. The sycamore is commonly associated with harmony, raising energy levels, prosperity, love, and success. I use it when calling to the spirits for prosperity rituals, bringing harmony, etc. I also have a selenite wand that I use when doing crystal healing and reiki.
I've a friend that actually uses herb bundles in place of an actual wand. She has claimed great success with them as well.
You can also add decorations, if you so wished. You could use small wires to attach gems, feathers, etc. If you have a soldering iron, you could even carve runes or other magical symbols into the material used for your wand.
The material used is really up to you. You can be as creative as you like. Though, using a wand is really up to the practitioner. You don't need one, but if you feel one would be beneficial to you, by all means make one!
I added a few links below for the magical properties of wood, should you decide to use it as the crafting base of your wand. Just remove any spaces that appear when you copy/paste it into your browser bar and they should work just fine.

Samuel, the person who made this thread has not been on this forum for more than a year. They are unlikely to friend you.

As for "getting" a wand, you have so many options! The absolutely simplest is not using one, as they are not an absolute necessity. However, since you posted in this thread asking for help, it's clear you want a wand. The thing is, they can be made out of basically anything, as long as it works to you. So, you definitely have options. You can buy an already-made wand, even something like a fantasy type roleplay wand (like those fancy Harry Potter style ones), make one out of crafts or materials found in nature. There are a lot of really good resources around the internet, if you search, "how to make a magic wand."

Hi BabyBlueEyes,

Misanthropy makes a lot of good suggestions, and I think you are right that making one would be a lot better than just buying one. The wand I used for ages was just made from a stick that I found when walking with a friend and it just 'felt' right. And attaching the feathers/stones/whathaveyou is further making it yours, providing you are using things that also 'feel' right. I think the quest to find these things to make your wand might be a huge part of what infuses it and makes it powerful. It is a symbolic extension of you, after all :) If this is the route you go, I hope it is an amazing experience assembling it. Feel free to share the results!
