Fae

I know that some people accept the fae to be real and other's don't and more likely than not, those that do, do on a spiritual level. Regardless, i was wondering how would i work with gnomes? As odd, as that sounds, i use to ( past tense ), have a book about fae and their connection to the element's as well as the Zodiac, and gnomes as well as dwarfs were mentioned a lot when it came to the fae associated with Earth. However, any gnomes you look into ( as far as i have searched at least ), are garden gnomes, or small trolls, and dwarfs are folk tales and lord of the ring's folk and nothing more.
Is there a way to connect with the fae associated with the element earth in specific, or to learn more about them?

( And yes, i know that most of the fae are associated with the element of Earth, however i am curious as to why those were the big to that were mentioned)

A great way to work with them is (if you have a garden) leave little offerings for them. For example you could put a little bowl of honey along with a handwritten note saying something like “fae of the earth, I wish to work with thee. To bring you no harm so please don’t be alarmed just enjoy this bowl of honey” (it doesn’t have to be those words that was just my example. You could also research some herbs and crystals associated with gnomes as that could attract them. I do have a little spell in my history on my profile that’s about attracting fae to your garden if you wanna check it out. But it’s for any fae not specifically gnomes. Hope this comment was helpful blessed be.

It was, thank you. I knew that offerings did attract the fae and different types could be used, but i never even thought about trying to find a crystal that would be connected with the gnomes. Thank you, again :)

I do not work with the fae, so please do not take my post as absolute truth; it is merely opinion based on some reading I have done.

I've seen a lot of people describe the fair folk, including gnomes, elves, dwarfs, and fairies, as elementals. But I am not certain how much the culture from which their tales originated are strict in that matter. I would see them more as nature spirits, which may correspond to the elements, more than one element at once, aspects of (an) element(s), and the like.

One way to look at it is similar to some teachings about the Tarot in regards to elemental archetypes in the court cards:
Kings, being a representation of air within the suit, queens representing water, knights representing fire, and page (or princess) representing earth, each also embody the element their suits represent.

Therefore, the King of Pentacles is called by some, "Air of Earth," that is, being in the suit of Pentacles, it represents aspects of earth, but represents the most active aspects. Some of these relationships can me made my mapping the cards' values on the Tree of Life (again, a different tradition than what has to do with fae, but relevant for the sake of my example) according to their deeper values.

The fae can be seen similarly: A fairly, if one believes they are a representation of the earth element, could be air of earth. Some are perceived with wings, after all. Some may purely be air, while their activity may be seen as more fire in nature.

I would see them as more minor elementals, but definitely as nature spirits which might not so easily be defined in terms of the four base elements from outside their initial tradition without at least some serious scrutiny.

Thank you for your idea/opinion. I have read about elementals in the same book. It described them as spirits that make up the bases of everything. That our soul is made up of four elementals and that is what allows us to connect to each element, the more balance between each, the better we are.
I have considered that in some ways the fae can act like elementals in assiting us in our needs, as well as just being nature spirits. Yet for the amount of legends and lore surrounding them, as well as there being Avalon ( the spiritual plan of mythical creatures ), it's hard to say in general.
I feel like it's solly based on opinion for no one can truly know.
