Ouija board ritual.

Merry meet my Sisters and Brothers.My friend and I are planning to do a Ouija board session on Halloween. I am new to this and need insight on how to proceed without getting my friend and myself hurt, possessed or release an evil entity. Thank you for your time. Blessed be.

I have never used a spirit board, but I have read a lot of reasonable sounding advice.

Hopefully the thread does not devolve into "Just don't do it!" and "I've done it and it went fine!" with no further information.

But here is the gist of what I deem the best advice:
Prepare. That is, cleanse, banish, ward, protect. Whatever is right according to your own beliefs and any tradition you may follow, is what you should do. Some will cast a protective circle. Advice on a circle can be quite involved. Again, reference the tradition you follow, or are currently studying.

The next part is to be specific in your calling. When you invite any spirit to communicate, anything might answer. Narrow down the possibilities. Don't invite anything in; ask to chat, to communicate only.

Always say goodbye. Be polite. If you believe you have made contact, thank the entity and say your session has come to its end.

Afterwards, banish, cleanse, ward, protect.
