This year will be first time honoring dead loved ones. I'll probably have white candles by their pictures and invite them to sit with us around dusk, might have other family around. Then celebrating with wine. If the night is available due to husband working then I'll be doing quite a bit of prayer and meditation.
How are you going to enjoy it?
I hope to celebrate by decorating my altar with symbols of Samhain- decorate with gourds, black/white/orange candles, maybe throw in something gold. Pictures of those who have died who were near and dear to my heart, and those I have not met (grandfather). Offer rosemary, apples, and turnips to them. Perhaps I might do a silent supper before hand, something I want to incorporate this year.
I did a spell 2 months ago almost to ward off negative people in my family (btw it worked) so all month I have been doing 3 things daily for thanks. If I hadn't done a spell like that I would have done a spell on Samhain to make warding off negativity much stronger, however I needed it earlier. I might try scrying again.
Anyways, I will be alone this Samhain. Missing my friends who I would normally do rituals with
