Red is a color I personally associate with healing and protection, so I would personally use it for one of those, if I could not find any other purpose for it.

You could also use it as an offering to a deity (if you work with any) or a nice altar candle.
You'll find a variety of books and lists of color correspondences, with varying representations for each. Go with what you feel is right and use it in your magical work, or not at all. While we can give you suggestions, it's up to you and what you feel your candle would be best used for.

So i decide what each color means? Like if i suddenly thought money was purple. A purple candle would be equally as good as a green one for a wealth spell?

You can use whatever candle color you want for whatever spell you want. The candle is just another tool to help you manifest your intent. For example, if I wanted to cast a spell for luck and only had a certain candle color to do it with(orange for instance), I wouldn't let that stop me.

Also keep in mind that you also do not need tools to help with spells, they are just another means to help you focus on the task at hand, your intent, etc. You don't need to limit your practice just because you don't have this or that on hand.

That said, at one time, purple was considered a color of royalty and all that went with it, so it would make sense to use it for a wealth spell as well. Wealth, power, money, financial stability, etc. So, if you felt it would be better suited to whatever it is you're doing, I'd say so.

Here is Dorothy Morrison's Candle Color Poem.

Proper colors for a spell
Make them work extremely well.
This list will make your magick strong
So study carefully and long
The candle colors listed here,
And all your spells will bring you cheer!
For lustful love and hot desire,
Use a candle red as fire.
If tranquil peace you now pursue,
Burn a bit of palest Blue,
For protection you may use the same;
Likewise if your health is lame.
Pink for harmony and love
and perfect union from above.
If to attract is your intent,
Orange is what the heavens sent!
If your hold on things, in time, goes sour,
Use purple to regain your power.
To increase your bank account,
Light green candles round about.
To ground yourself and make it stick,
Brown candles always do the trick!
To organize, use deepest blue,
For stress relief a lavender hue.
Black puts bad habits at an end.
Use white if you must substitute;
It contains all the hues of color suit.
If you burn white instead, it's true
You must concentrate on proper hue.
Use these wisely. Learn them well.
For each and every time you spell
You weave a dream that you create
Into a realistic state.
The Universe will not say "No!"
But confusing it may cause you woe.

Some might say yes, some no. Like I said, tools are there to help us, but you don't necessarily need them. They are just another component to help you send your will out into the universe.
You are probably one of the greatest tools you have when it comes to magical practice. It's your intent, your will, energy, emotions, etc that help make your spellwork a success.
While you do not need items for spells, some use them because they feel it helps improve their chances of success. You will find individuals on both side of the spectrum, from those that just use themselves and the energy they raise/send out and those that use tools to help in their work.
For example, I am very hands on when it comes to magic, and greatly enjoy working with sigils, poppets, candles, and other physical representations of my will. I find them useful tools, and greatly enjoy making them and feel they help me better focus on what it is I'm doing. However, if I am doing a spell and do not have these materials, I do not let that stop me from doing said spell.
I have met and talked with other practitioners that use few or no tools at all. Again, it's really up to the individual and what works best for them.

Yes. Magick is intent. As Misanthropy said, tools are just that, tools, they are merely an extension of the Practitioner's Will.
They are not a necessity, and like it is stated above, not everyone uses them. Some like extravagant, elaborate rituals with many tools, others, like myself, prefer simplicity. It will achieve the same result in the end. The energy and effort you put into your workings is what really matters.

Most of it is just intent. Technically you can do a spell completely in your mind using intent only and the spell will work. The physical stuff are just bells and whistles to make ritual and spells look cool :D
