Wrong way of technique???

I am not able to seperate when I achieve a trance state. People have been telling me I need to relax more but there is a possibility that I use the technique wrong, because I feel the same relaxation like the time I seperated my head.

For some reason, when I try to seperate, I try to move my physical body. I have an intent of wanting to seperate, but I try to move my physical body (with the intent of getting out) and maybe this is why it doesn't work.

When I seperated my head, I tried to get out but at the same time I imagined-visualized my head getting out and maybe this is why it worked. When I did it, I was just trying to get out of my other body but with no visualization and maybe this is why I didn't seperate back then?

Am I using the technique wrong? If I do, I guess I have to visualize and try to move at the same time, right?

Visualization is a useful tool. Perhaps you should try combining the techniques and visualize exiting your physical body completely.

Astral projection is mental and/or spiritual vs physical. If you accidentally focus your actions on your physical body you'll disrupt your attempts. You should visualize and focus your energy on exiting your body while attempting to separate your consciousness from your physical body.

I prefer to visualise an outstream of energy pouring out of my body, into which I form an astral vessel for my consciousness- this normally takes the form of myself, but can take the form of other things. I then work on shifting my point of view from lying down to actually experiencing what this form will experience.

Astral projection is really simple, there is just a knack to it. But once you get that knack, you are sorted. It took me years of trying and I was competent with the theory. I found that my own thoughts and trying too hard got in the way. Once I stopped trying to force it and instead eased into it, I seemed to find it natural.

Keep in mind, projection is not an easy practice, it really does take time for you to successfully do it, as stated, do visualization, it helps your mind and imagination get you out of your physicalbody. It is also a good idea to meditate more, meditating is focusing on your breathing, as projection is. You can reach the trance state over a thousand times and you still have a chance you won't fully come out of your physicalbody, it may be your spirit guide or guardian angel telling you that you are not ready (by my own opinion). Have patience with this practice, it is very difficult and it's different to everyone. You will reach a successful state, you may want to make practicing a hobby or daily basis.
