Magickal Theory

Hey, everyone! I hope this is in the right forum.

I've noticed a lack of intellectually-stimulating threads on the site today, so I thought it might be a good time to discuss what I fondly think of as Magickal Theory! The topic is simple: what do you think magick is?

Personally, I choose not to worship a higher power; I believe there once may have been something, but it either left, leaving behind fragments of its energy as magick, or simply chooses not to interfere with the universe any longer. As such, I believe that through the Craft, we are harnessing the power of Creation as it flows through the universe and through us all. We can direct this energy as we see fit through rituals and spellwork, and as followers of our paths, should use it responsibly.

What do you think? Do you believe you're a conduit for the will of the gods? Are you manifesting inner strength for your workings? Or are you simply directing the vibrations of the universe through your spells? I'm really interested to find out!

I think of magic as the hidden beauty in the world, and the invisible science. Magic to me doesn't necessarily have to include spellcraft (though I do cast the odd spell). Instead it means to me that I am a converter in scientific terms. What I mean by this is that if it wasn't for me I wouldn't experience the flow of input and output energy that I experience and look for every day. If I didn't believe in this, I wouldn't believe a falling leaf has any major significance, but it does! Why does it? Because I see that it does. Others might agree and others may laugh, but at the end of the day I am the converter between the invisible world of magic, and the physical world of reality.

At times I do feel as if I am a middle man between the gods and the world of the living. I like to adopt the values and morales of gods and incorporate them into my life. For example, I have a very close kinship to a deity of the night. This deity has accepted me wholly for who I am, faults and all, and yet I still think of them and I feel loved, wanted, appreciated, and worthy as a human being. Thia deity is as genuine with me as I am with them. I try to keep in mind this deity's love and openness and when I can feel someone is genuine I reciprocate that with love and understanding in my heart, just like my mother deity has done with me. (Mother figure)

i like t think my magic is co-creation with the universe. the universe kind of sets the time and place, and i do whatever i want there. some things are better suited for that time and place, as such, they will be more effective, and all of these things have a cycle or pattern they follow of time and place.

thats my thoughts for the day!
