Yes it is, as long as your chant and intent are associated with something that can actually be achieved.

Chanting can also be used as a means of raising energy for ritual work.Chanting is the rhythmic repetition of words, and can have a hypnotic effect and allow us to better focus on a spell, or other type of magic, being worked. This allows power/energy to be raised more easily. You can sing the words in a rhythmic tune or chant along to rhythmic drumming, dancing, etc.
The chanting contributes to a rising of excitement, adding to the power and energy that is raised/produced. Gradually allow this energy and emotion to build and then release it for your spell or ritual.
