Practise is the answer here. You just need to get into a trance state and do not worry about the vibrations. If you have to much energy stretch all your mucles before. If you're sleepy, do not practise it on night. Make sure you rest about 4-6 hours and then practise.
Meditation is like the key to most magikal work and the deeper you can go in your meditations, the better. Sometimes you need a focal point. Like you say you have a destination in mind, but have ever tried to find a representation of that place to focus on. Depending on your distraction level, you might want to consider music to help you trance out and open yourself up to the journey. And your environment can sometimes get in the way of the novice traveler. Clean and bless the area where you will be starting your journey and make sure you are comfortable. Another thing is being clean and warm and relaxed with no interruptions. You might also dress in a way that represents where you are going. Eight months is not a long time...be patient.
here's my top vernon. i have read that when you are going to AP, you feel vibrations... I did AP for the first time a week or two ago and I felt no vibrations, and I know it wasn't a dream because I can never control myself when I am in a dream. believe in yourself and don't expect vibrations, try climbing ladders in seats of the rope. try something else, it took me two years to achieve this, so be patient.
Everyone who attempts AP should know that different methods do not work for everyone, i can't tell you what will work except meditate.
One method that gives me more result is becoming devoid of emotions, the astral form is not governed by emotions like the physical body is, so just attempt only focus on what it is you want and not why.
I did the same thing, I worked at it every night until one night I actually saw myself leave my body, and seen myself laying there in bed, well it shocked me right back into my body, then I could never get there again. I gave up actually, but for me it was more of wanting to just see if you could do it, now I know it is a real thing, and I'm quite satisfied I found out for myself.
To answer your question, I cant really except to say use the technique that worked the one time and just keep trying. Best of luck.
I have been able to Astral Project ever since I was 7.
I know I could do it before now that I think about it, but thats the first memory when I did it that sprang to mind.
I offer like every one else here, Meditation and Practice.
I am able to slip in and out of the planes after finding my way that works great for me, so I also offer it too.
My way: Ok so I listen to alot of music, and I memorize songs.
I trained myself to relax by remembering songs and from there I can slip in to the planes and explore.
But, You'll have to discover you own unique way of getting there, this is just my help.
