Since this original post
I have come to understand
Much more than before
What I ment to say
Is how do you piece runes
Together to make your own
Rune spells
Which I have found out
And use them now all the time
I can't explain it but
They can talk to me??
I see visions of the past
I know I probably sound
Off the wall
But runes...
Wow they are really powerful

runes talk to you or have visions of the past, this is more of a guess mixed with some of my own experience. I found that if you have a past life, and if that past life had a skill in something, you may gain some of that skill after remembering part of that life time

Wow that is so
Very interesting and
Would explain a lot of things
I believe that they do talk but not
With a voice but with visions
Vibration and energy
And they talk very loudly
As soon as I use rune spells
In candle magic I almost immediately
Get a response on the very rune
Magic that I am working on
In the real world
I believe that the rune world plain
Is so close to our own that it can
Manifest almost instantly
From my own personal experience with
Them.
I learned about Odin when I was
Learning about fortune telling
I didn't realize that he was a rune god
Until very recently.
My sister named my nephew Odin after
Norse God Odin.
He is very active in our lives.
I'm trying to learn as much as I can
About him and all the runes
That I can since he has been grabbing
My attention for many years...
He also is grabbing my family members attention
To.

I have only started on my path, I use Runes for mostly defensive magic and carry a bag of Runes to keep me grounded. Another way I have used them is by tracing/visualising them on door/window frames for protection.

There are some excellent books out there on using the runes both for divination and for runic magic. Some titles I'd highly recommend include:

" Taking Up the Runes " by Diana Paxson

" Odin Ecstasy: Runes and Norse Magic : by Diana Paxson

"Futhark: A Handbook of Rune Magic " by Edred Thorsson

" Northern Magic " by Edred Thorsson

" The Nine Doors of Midgard " by Edred Thorsson

And a couple of passable websites to get you started:

There are a few historically accurate ways to utilize runes. They are a means of divination. They are a means to infuse power into an object by use of solitary or multiple (bind runes) symbols. Runes can also be used to construct spellwork that is placed on an object like a stone monolith that is intended for lasting use.

I am assuming that you wish to utilize runes to construct spellwork to speak your magick. Thus the term formula. There are a couple of ways to do that. You can construct a bindrune, simplicity is key here. Use a pair or a minimal amount until you understand what the combinations will produce. The second way is to construct a phrase or series of phrases in an ancient language using the runes to write or carve out your intention to an object, usually wood. That kind of requires matching the appropriate runes according to the appropriate dialect. Example would be the use the Elder runes with the proto-Germanic languages or the Younger with the Norse or Saxon language. Some words and terms in modern languages are impossible to construct in runes. Old German does not have the letter Y in its alphabet as an example.

A good way to learn to use runes in recorded or written form is to study photos of runestones. Once you can read and decipher them, you will be adept enough to be able to inscribe your own writings.

Hi guys I'm new on here and hope some one can help. I'm very in to runes and am thinking of having the runic alphabet tattooed on myself. But wanted to ask if in doing so will this invoke all of the runes that are tattooed on myself? Also if thst is the case would it also be best to have them done in there reverse passion as to invoke the magic of the runes reverced aswell

I would advise against tattooing runes on your body until you are familiar with each one and it's meaning.
