I was wondering what uses oak trees have in Magick other than using a branch to craft a wand. There's a tree close by to my house in South Carolina called the Angel Oak, if you haven't already heard of it, the tree is close to 1500 years old. It's a Quercus virginiana to be specific on the species. Are there any specific uses for this species of oak in Magick? Ivevbeen really interested in it ever since i first saw it a week go.
"Listening" to the tree, asking it what it can be used for, if it wants to be used for anything, is another way to find a spiritual use for the tree, same with any other plant. It's useful for those plants found locally that no one has written about.
You can perform any type of divination to get a feel about the tree's desires. I would try to build a working relationship with the tree. Give it offerings, talk to the oak, perform divination to see where the relationship is, then ask permission for anything taken. Cards, tarot or playing, lots, such as pennies or runes, and the many types of trance divination can work for this.
