Weekly/Daily Q&A

Hey guys I wanted to make this thread about multiple things. If thats ok with u guys.
Basically I will post questions about stuff that people are open to comment and respond about.
As of the First Question
If You Were Able To Rewind Time(As In LiS) by just raising a hand, what would you do with the ability/describe a normal day with this ability.

For me I would test decisions on people in real life to see if it would end in a good concequence. Of course if it ends up wrong I would rewind, as also if I get bad test answers wrong or lose something, rewind and get the item and put the right answer.

I don't think I would do anything at all, I would be too scared to seriously effecting something in the long term.

Either that or I would use it to rewind me shouting at people and saying all of the horrible things that I keep bottled up in order to keep peace and then erase it as though I had never said anything. A good stress release really.

I'm not really sure what the misgivings here are, except in certain paradigms. There are actually stories of what happens when one attempts to divert fate in the Eddas, namely surrounding the death of Baldr. The story teaches that no matter how someone gets from point A to point B, both points will still happen; the smaller stuff tends to be less restricted and I feel that really resonates with me.

Time travel is actually a practice for me within the context of trance (not physical travel or even changing anything; it's more divination), and is a matter I've devoted some time and research to (mainly being my own experiences and UPG). The gist of what I've come upon aligns with what I understand of multiverse theory; that there are multiple "dimensions" of the same overall existence that are different (sometimes slightly, sometimes greatly; again, different paths from A to B) and these different "dimensions" can actually be traveled through because the subtle planes don't have the same limitations of time and space.

What this brings to light is that, if it were the case, our forms of divining the past, present, and future are not limited to our own "time stream", as it were. This also delves into interacting with other versions of ourselves and that has proven to be an interesting path to me so far. It's a bit like working with one's higher self or primal self, except the context is somewhat different; as with any form of divination, it tends to be good with offering "outside" perspectives and insight.

This topic is less of a "What if?" for me because it has been brought up over and over in my head. I know I can't physically change the past and I have come to accept my actions and their consequences; before, in a negative way, and now, in a more wholesome way. I tend to think more forward than in the past because of this (at least, nowadays), so my thoughts on the matter always drift back to a paradigm that involves all of magic.

We do have the power to affect and change things in our lives. Whether or not that is the "purpose" or if it is some heretical thing, it happens, regardless. We make our choices, take our actions, and go on about our lives. If this is true for our mundane lives, what makes it untrue for our magical lives? If it is possible and someone makes the choice to do so, it really doesn't matter if it was meant to happen or not as we have no true way of knowing that.

I suppose my point here is a question: if you had this power, what makes it any different from any other power or choice you make?

I think the only points that are actually set is the beginning and end. The path in between is not set however I know from experience that I was put into certain situations and places for a reason. Which is why I believe we all have a higher calling. How we get to the end road is our choice but you must take into account cause and effect. Our actions ripple outward and change not only our own path but the paths of others.

And as far as time travel is concerned I see and understand your concept Eissy. I do it too except I follow the lines of energy from one point to another. And for me it's more like astral travel except I can't change events of the past.

The experience itself for me is much like how I enter any sort of trance; the feeling of sinking into myself or into an "Underworld" of sorts, to identify with the modern concept of Shamanism. It almost feels like falling into a different time and place, while the energy of said time and place rises around me. It's most often induced with song, dance, and/or liquor, but I can feel the energy change either way. Interestingly enough, it is mostly the 1900's in the US; though there was one instance of 1700's France.

To describe the time change is much like describing feeling like you're in a different room when you've gone nowhere else. It's the impression, the smell, the visions. It just feels like a different... everything. It's hard to describe how difference in time feels like directly without referring to other key descriptions; but there is a difference to be experienced.

I'll admit, I don't really have anyone to talk to about the practice as I've never come across any one else who isn't one of my spirits who actually know anything about it or have practiced it. This thread is somewhat exciting because of that.

It's much like past life regression. What I've seen for me is Roman or Greek empires. 500-800 BCE and what I believe to be 1700-1800's China or Europe. The big things for me is remembering knowledge I never learned. Some craft related some not.

I think I understand what you mean by the whole time travel/not time travel thing. Like physically standing in a place in the present and mentally being there in the past, but with a little more freedom. It's an interesting concept.

To the original point, I would probably try to rob a bank and keep rewinding until I got away with it.

On a personal practice side, in LiS she goes through her own memories through the photos. I do this sometimes with trinkets I collect, I have a memories box. It helps when I'm down to go through all the good memories again. Though, I'm sure most people do this. That's interesting Eissy. Can't say I understand, because I really don't. But it's still interesting.

I actually played this game a while back. I would probably use my power in conversation too. Try to say the right thing, come out and see reactions, all that good stuff. Then, I would go back to my middle school days or something through the memory bloop she does and slap myself, write a note to not do things. Tell my past self what to do, all that fun jibe. I'd fuck up and end up blowing Louisiana off the map in a huge flood.

Another similar concept is what I've read is called Walking the Bloodline or something to that effect; where you trace the energies and memories of your ancestors. For me, it manifested in my mother's childhood when she lived in a house in the 70's. It wasn't exactly her memory, but through her energy, I got a feel of the time in the 70's. Different scents, feel to the air, and a house that, of course, looked like it belonged in that decade.

If any of you remember a member named Cassiel, he is a friend of mine that I practiced with and I'd just learned how to link subtle bodies with other people (literally one person prior to him); we linked up and he had a glimpse of my astral body (as did I, for the first time). He also felt my energy, and I felt his "wings" tracing my spine, which actually brought about a change in it as all of my "winged" subtle body modifications came after that. One thing we found interesting was that I had visions of a telescope, a floor plan, and then the outside of a building. After I told him this, he mentioned that he had just walked out of his bedroom and then outside to go have a smoke. The bit about the telescope freaked him out a bit because he had one in his room.

Subtle body linking may be a topic for another time, but it ties into the topic at hand through being able to sense energy through the energy of another place, person, time, or memory.

As for a legitimate response to the original question posed, I would probably rewind time a lot so I could experience my studies, games, and speech patterns without limitations. I often feel like I want to turn off my capability to sleep in a healthy way because there's just so much to do. That's actually part of why I really like dream work and one of the forms of it I want to hone is to be able to address conscious concerns during said dreams. It has happened in a direct way once, but it is definitely something we are capable of developing... I just wonder at what cost it would bring because our dreams are important for consciously understanding our subconscious, which is why something like rewinding time would actually be nice, if it were possible.

Anyhow, I ramble and veer off topic a lot because I've missed being able to manifest my thoughts and share them. Regardless, I welcome the mental spewing as it is better than being holed up with my own thoughts all the time.

I think LiS biggest lesson is: if it is meant to be, it will be. Max saved Chloe countless times during the gameplay, and in the end, (spoiler? ahah) in order to keep Chloe alive, her was city was be swapped away. The player is even given the choice to learn from this lesson or be stubborn and try to manipulate time as it was their plaything.

As for me, I guess I'd act the way Max did. Try to be a great person, help people, be admired by everyone. Either way, I still consider this to be imoral on it's particular way...
