Thats how spirits are born. Tho i forgot the name of this kind of spirit, they are likely to be found in every house. Some are more open to interact with living folk, yet some like to stay hidden. They usualy long for material possesion and to be sorounded by living people so that they dont feel so much alone. They tend to be a bit aggresive, but are usualy harmless. Trying to comunicate with them would be very kind of you and they will certainly keep that in mind, and will try to be less aggresive towards the house folk.

Also there are a number of ways to contact spirits. The quick ways are Ouija boards and pendulums but these aren't that accurate and the Ouija can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. The more advanced ways are through meditation and astral projection because they're more accurate but take longer to do.
I doubt she's your guardian but that depends on how you feel around her. Such as feeling protected or a strong urge to go back into magic.
I do feel like i should start practicing again, and when i saw her i felt so scared i couldn't even go up to my room. My step mother didn't know about last night yet, but she said she just saw someone walking around in my room.

Yes and also burning incense around the house if you have any can help. I normally use sweats as offerings and bury or throw them out when I can be bothered but I'm sure the ghost will appreciate whatever you do as an offering.
