Demonic sigil opening

I was practicing opening a sigil, i have been doing it before with partial success but that night i was opening a demonic sigil with some techniques i found and suddenly the ink seemed to dissappear and i began to feel afraid and i aborted it. What do you think caused that because i know i didnt cast a circle.
