If I were to make an Ouija board myself with a board and a marker, would it work the same as store-bought Ouija board?

It could potentially work better since it has more if your energy put into it. You would sill have to cleanse and purify it and put up protections. Don't use it unless you know what you're doing.

It would be. Be sure to bless and charge it as you would any other tool and it would work just fine. I would write on wood instead of paper or cardboard though, damage to the board can bring problems. What and why I'm not sure, but other coven members and friends who use Ouija Boards have warned me of this.

and few pieces of advise
1. NEVER EVER burn the board (place board in a black silk bag and bury it)
2. NEVER EVER use it in your house
3. Don't just play with it for the fun of it you must take this seriously

It would work better yes. But like they have said be care full because of the energy you put into it. It will be harder to control. The spirits will be harder to control
