Limit on chat

I seriously cannot be the only one upset and annoyed at chat limits. Am I right? Like, when you are discussing a ritual, spell, history or more then its annoying when some messages later...limits up... I, in the end, made 4 different accounts and used them all as back ups.

Let me tell you, that when I first made my 3 account, it was brand new and I had never touched its mail system until I mailed a coven member about a spell. 47, yes 47! messages later, I had a limit... Isn't that a little harsh? like, I was really learning something new and then right in the middle of the convo I get cut off. And its not like the reset takes 5-10 min, no, I waited half an hour.... Oh fun... By the time I got on, due to time differences, she was gone.

What do you say about that? moderators are completely unaffected by this so when I spoke to one, I soon lost chat and soon had to explain what was up...

I know WHY it was put there in the first place (limit spam and what not) but in any case, shouldn't the limit at least be quicker to reset, or be a little higher?

A message limit is there for a reason. Just delete the messages as you send them from your default folder.

Also it's night depending on your status. If your a coven priest or council member. Than your limit is higher.

As far as I know, being both a Priestess and a Moderator, we are effected by the mailing system in the same way you are. I've hit a limit before.

Anywho, there's a logical reason for this. Some people create accounts here to simply spam. They use the mail system to send out massive repetitive mails and otherwise bother members. If we limit the amount of mail that can be sent in a short time period, it gives us a chance to remove spammy members like that and otherwise keep your inbox free of that junk.

It's not an unreasonable limit. A lot of people don't actually hit it within a day. And there are other means of communication, via the chat or through a coven, or just waiting the hour till it resets. There's 24 hours in a day, so lots of time to reset your mail.

I have been told that before but it doesn't help no matter what I do.

Just join a chat room app or site.

ive been told to delete messages before but it hasn't ever worked... Also maybe you should get one moderator that actually looks at your mail, and if you seem to spam then gag if not, make the limit reset faster or something...

There are so many members on the site, and only a handful of moderators. We don't have the time to browse individual mails. Patience is key here. It doesn't take that long.

for me it takes up to half an hour to 2 hours. Its actually very long when your in Australia and all you mates are in the USA, UK, etc... :3 There has to be someone, that can be put up to that individual job, not all moderators have to have a use, like some of you guys only comment on forum and I only know a few like Flagg, that do other things besides comment. So again, if not all of you guys are of helpful use then why don't you just start looking at messages of people suspected of spam... :3 The site would be a much happier place if the people who deserved it got a higher message limit and others didn't...

Again, please understand that the moderators do quite a bit around this site. We do much more than monitor the forums. We don't have time to read your messages and clean your mailbox out for you, and every other member on the site. We volunteer our times here and are not paid to be here helping out the site. Therefore, we spend part of our time enjoying the site the same as you- and asking us to spend all of our time dedicated to fixing your mail so you can reply faster to people is, frankly, rude.

Patience. Your mail will reset. I've already said that.
