Gris-Gris and Honey Jars?

Hello!
I've recently become interested in Vodou, and was wondering how to make a gris-gris bag and a honey jar. I've been lurking around the forum a bit, but I haven't been able to find anything especially helpful. Could someone help me, or am I missing something?

First, please understand that gris gris and honey jars are not apart of Vodou, they are a type of work done in conjure or hoodoo, not Voodoo or Vodou.

Gris gris is a French word which essentially means a charm. This term is used regionally in New Orleans to describe any type of charm, purposes depending on the region.

I suggest doing a search for "honey jar hoodoo conjure" and "mojo bags hoodoo conjure." A few sites I suggest are the luky mojo site, oldstyleconjure, carolina conjure, and the hoodoo foundry.

Gris-gris are fairly simple to make.. you use a small cloth to create a bag for whichever ingredients you use to aid towards your desired effect.. For example, if you want a good luck bag you could add a penny, dandelions, clover, and any oils you wish that aid towards luck.. You put it all in the cloth and tie it up.
-You must carry it on your person or keep it on your altar or in a safe place where no one else can touch it-

You have to keep feeding it and either baptize and wake it up or pray over it. Pray over the herbs each and wake them up, or pray over the bag as a whole when your doing it. Most people feed the bag with whiskey. Personally, I'd either keep it on the person or put it somewhere symbolically. If I wanted to protect the home, I might put it over the door or keep it somewhere in the kitchen. Hidden of course from sight. I might put it under my mattress to draw a lover. It's all up to your imagination.
