Dealing with the loss
By:
This past month has been a hard one for me in particular, My dog who was like my kid and was only 6yrs old, past the 18th. People have told me I'm doing better, but it still hurts To come home at night from work knowing my best friend isn't there to greet me, it hurts to walk past her food dish, to still find her hair all over my stuff, or to climb into bed or grab a shirt and still smell her. I catch myself waking in the middle of the night and then panicking because I wonder where she is. I sob like a big 24yr old baby every time a damn Corgi shows up on the T.V. And yet it's strange, because it doesn't feel like shes really gone. like she could still walk into my room at any moment. Or I'll wake up in the morning and she'll be there with her big soft eyes.
Someone said "my god you're behaving like you lost a husband." then told me to just get over it, that she was just a dog, Yes she was just a dog, but she was my dog. I've had her since I had to help her mother give birth to her. We went everywhere together. when I moved out she was all I had, and I was all she had, even though she was just a dog, she was my very best friend, and the best dog I've ever had the pleasure of growing up with.
My boyfriend and roommates have been so awesome just being there for me I know at some point I'll be okay but for now I'm in unknown territory...

What people do not realize is that a pet is like a child to some and when one dies it is like you have lost a child. I completely understand how you feel because I have lost a cat of mine that should not have died so soon. Just know that your dog is in your heart and as long as you remember her she will always be eternal. Magickally, you can contact her spirit which may still be roaming around you.

I had the same exact problem when I lost my horse and dog. Becuase my horse taught me how to enjoy speed and that I could handle any horse issue... My dog sophie allways tried to cheer me up when I am sad.
Sometimes when I am sad I still emagin her trying to cheer me up. When I am in bed sometimes I thought she was in bed with me. I even wake up sometimes in the morning or at night to were I swor we were snuggling up in bed. But after she died she her spirit mustve contacted my cat... cause now my cat does the exact same things as she did which see never did before...

I felt just as sad loosing my pet bird. I understand that your dog was very dear to you. You may want to considering getting another, perhaps a different breed, if that's what you decide on. I've learned that each pet is unique, and if I got a new bird, I wouldn't expect it to act like my previous one. I would even give it a different name. I hope this helps. May your dear dog rest in peace. I like to imagine he's in a better place now.

Well, you could try 'finding' your dog. I've heard that some peoples pets reincarnate and they can recognize the pets soul.
