Do I feel offended? Sometimes I do, but normally I shake my head and try to provide an answer. I think the only time I feel bad is when I stop and think about these new witches being the only example in a school and winds up doing harm to the community making people think we are like this.

Granted, everyone was new at some point and I'm sure we have all done things we would rather not let people know about [I thought I could change people in animals] normally its harmless misunderstandings, other times people will shout their views from the rafters and turn people away as a result. Most people who become a witch or wiccan at this age normally do it to cast spells and get their crush, we have all been young, we can all relate to se degree. So I don't fault those who are new and confused, or just want to cast spells, sometimes its just a phase, sometimes they need to experience things before they can learn. I do get bored of the same requests though, but I don't get offended. [Unless they demand they're a vampire, or some dragon master or something]

Im 18 and im just moving out of my house soon. My dad does not approve of me being Wiccan. I was really serious when i first started in October but then i got busy and didnt have time ive recently calmed down a bit and wish to regain my seriousness in wicca. i feel i really fit in with this community im still really new and dont know a lot i really with i had a mentor to help me. A few of my friends are wiccan also but they are moving away my boyfriend also wants to join the wiccan community he is really supportive of me and wishes to learn. I see the opprotunity to correct the unrealistic idea of wicca and witchcraft.

As many people on this thread have already said, teen wiccans are not the real problem. My two cents is this.

I think that the reason people are so confused about wicca and what it really is, is most simply the false representation in movies and television shows. People think that witch=harry potter or that magic=levitation, which is quite obviously not true.

Coming to Wicca at a young age along with other people on this thread, I can speak for myself in saying that I didn't really know at first either. However, being raised Pagan and adopting some Wiccan practices, I probably knew a little more about the basis of the religion than most.

Being a teenage Wiccan can be daunting, especially when you're very serious about it. Sometimes younger Witches/Wiccans overstep reality just a bit because of the confusion (e.g. how can it be considered so bad if it's really completely normal?)

Now that I'm older, I can look back on my younger years and know that my misunderstandings were necessary for me to grow. I think that as a responsible Wiccan community on the internet we have to reach out to people that misunderstand and say, "Hey, no that's not right, but let me explain why not" rather than "stupid, why are you so ridiculous?" Fortunately, (or unfortunately, depending on how you want to look at it) we have grown up and now have the opportunity and knowledge to teach the next generation of Wiccans, because I'm sure we all had a naive stage, right?

Personally, it doesn't bother me. Everyone has their own free will and can believe in whatever they want to believe in. It doesn't change my own spirituality and practice in the magickal arts. Are they unaware of what Wicca really is? Probably. But it's not my place to judge anyone here on this site.

However, what I do find slightly disturbing are the individuals who are just dabbling and want to cast spells without having any background or insight into the art. I have seen this a lot in my short time on the site. Spell casting can be extremely dangerous and one needs an understanding of their art before taking on such acts.

I'm 14 and I've had crushes before and blah blah blah, but yes, my other Wiccan friends are always searching for love spells. Seriously, this isn't Hogwarts, you can't make a "love potion". People treat magic like its from a story book, but that is just how some people and you've just got to deal with it...

Merry meet let me start off by saying i am not a vamp that it was the first thing to pop into my head when making my profile. I am only 17 but have been studying and practicind wicca for a little under the year and a day mark and i would like to say that in that time my perspective on wicca has changed from the hollywood version to a much more realistic view thanks to many of the people on this site and their shared knowledge (?) when i asked for their guidence (?). I'm a teen Wiccan, and that's how I originally thought it would be, that I could use spells to make people fall in love with me and make me the most beautiful girl in the world. But, after much research and time, I realized Wicca isn't just about magick, but about worshipping the God and Goddess and getting in touch with the world around you, finding your inner peace. I now believe that all aspects are important and I should not rely on magick to be the solution to all my problems.

Yes, I do, I actually happen to be a 13 year old Wiccan but I happen to be a little more mature then to use magic for a "crush" I believe that generally combining love and magic is a stupid thing especially for something as childish as a crush... They should be using it for better purposes and reasons like sickness and hunger...

That would be really neat and to rate them from a 1-10 scale on their knowledge. Also, put their highest and lower point to show what they need improvement in.

I consider myself blessed. Because my mom is Christian, and my dad is Hindu. I believe in more than one God and I believe in Goddess of the moon. So when I was introduced to Wicca. I felt like I was uniting with family. I started practicing spell writing at age 20. And most of my spells worked. I also made some potions too. I was also introduced to tarot by a New Age store that used to be walking distance from my house. (sadly they went out of business in the Economy fall). I have been practicing Wicca for about 7 years. I read a lot of new age books, and found a spiritual journey. I stopped practicing for awhile because I had my heart broke by my boyfriend going 5 years. I found this site because my brother found a bag of my old spells, and asked me to do a spell for him. Then I Googled the spell. And I was directed to this site. When I found this site. I had a strong awakening inside me. I found friends here. And found a new journey waken inside me. I bought a lot of books. And bought some spell ingredients. And started my own new Book of Shadows. I don't consider myself immature. I knew that I started spell writing again was like my spirit grew a little. I am not your typical stereotype witch.
