I rather enjoy the story where Odin is hung from the world tree, and pierced with his own spear, so that he can gain the knowledge of the runes, and use them to possess power within the various realms.

I enjoy Norse mythology for varying reasons. One, because I am Norweigan. Two, too many people picture all the Norse gods running around with hammers and leather skirts, drinking all the time. I just like to expand the view a little. There are so many fascinating stories.

Only thing is lack of mention of his role as the valfather.

Thanks, Asa. I'll look into writing about that. Was going to include more on Odin (this doesn't even cover half) but I know long posts tend to bore some people.

Long posts aren't boring at all if they're actually saying something. ^_^

Though I'm a touch heartbroken that the Norse gods don't run around leather clad and drinking. haha.
