Amber-

Excellent for use in rituals for enhancing your beauty and attractiveness. Helps to attract love and stimulates happiness and pleasure. Amber is used as both a good luck and protective amulet, and is extremely protective against negative magick which has been directed against you. When placed on the altar, it can increase the effectiveness of your spells. Amber is said to increase strength while relieving or curing health conditions. Amber is also very useful in protecting children.

Amber has always been associated with magic. It is a favorite protective and enhancing stone of Wiccans and Shamans. It is a sensual, (amber is warm to the touch,) magnetic stone that attracts love.

This original healing, protective, antiseptic, restorative intention is at the very core, is the very essence of all amber, all resin, and it is one of those energetic imprints that is so powerful, and so pervasive through the structure of the amber that it cannot be changed or perverted in any way.

Unlike stones and crystals, which are so easily imprinted with all manner of energy forms and magical intentions, amber with its existence of protection and healing can ONLY do that - that is amber's nature, what amber is all about.

As such, amber is a magical substance that even absolute beginners can use, or those who have no magical talent at all; it is superbly safe, always protective, cannot be perverted into anything else, and that is why people used to make tiny necklaces and teething toys for babies out of amber because it is so safe and so highly active in protection against the invisible things.

Amber is not a crystal/gemstone, it is made from fossilized coniferous tree resin.

It corresponds to the Solar Plexus Chakra

In ancient times, amber was burned to cleanse the air, especially during childbirth. It was also thought to improve eyesight by gazing into it.

Touching amber is soothing to the nerves. Stones of the pale/bright yellow type are good "all-healers", since they represent the energy of the Sun. I use them at the Solar Plexus, which is the center of Chi in the body.

I discourage people from burning amber, although it will create a rather pleasant odor. Amber, like all fossils/fossil fuels is NOT a renewable resource.

There are five classes of amber, defined on the basis of their chemical constituents. Because it originates as a soft, sticky tree resin, amber sometimes contains animal and plant material as inclusions - a fossil.

Amber is used in perfumery.

Amber has long been used in folk medicine for its purported healing properties. Amber and extracts were used from the time of Hippocrates in ancient Greece for a wide variety of treatments through the Middle Ages and up until the early twentieth century.
