ive been called fluff soo many times, and it is usually by people who dont know a thing about me. so what? my beliefs conflict with yours, deal with it. i would expect magical practicioners to be very open minded to all types of theory about the paranormal.
To Zebrah: "I would call someone who is seriously misguided, yet unwilling to learn, a 'fluff'." How is that on my side? You just proved my point by saying that sentence.
And to the last three: Yeah I guess your right. What does it matter what they think. I still think this problem needs addressing though. It just makes me angry when people say these things. Like the old saying goes "if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all." I just don't understand why people need to post on things they disagree with when they can do other stuff better suited to their time. Just saying.
i understand, it makes ALOT of people feel unwelcome and practically hated. it is really harmful to others and their opinion of this site, and how they talk about it to others.
If you take that personally I can only assume that you consider yourself to be seriously misguided and unwilling to learn. That was your choice. You are rude yourself, you are only arguing vocabulary. Now I am bored by your needy thread.
I do not always agree with the word fluff. I dislike it because we all have different meanings to different things. If it is not 'mainstream', it is not fluff just not mainstream.
I do agree with Zebrah. If someone is misguided and there is really no intelligent or personal meaning behind your practice, then it is fluff. There is no reason behind it. It is just there. Just a little marsh mellow with no filling what so ever.
Like Nu said. We all have the right to believe whatever it is we want to. Though I personally see no reason to believe in something which has nothing in it but a squishy shape. And I, like Nu, can believe that you had a little too much sugar and went a little crazy with your pretend games.
You will find many differences in the pagan community and in the magic community. Everybody has their own field of experience . But notice that that term in bold has the word experience in it. Meaning that you have experienced something that made you think that way. That would be the reason behind the practice.
I seriously doubt anyone has experience a mermaid transformation, a super speeding sparkly vampire, a transforming werewolf, or flight (without the aid of some type of aircraft.) And don't give me videos saying 'look at this'. Hollywood proves how accurate videos and pictures really are. And don't give me that 'i have seen it with my own two eyes'. That is about as much proof as the movies.
Really, the field of experience by Schramm (spelling) meant the beliefs and practices of the culture and their morals and values. As well as person experience. Again, those would be something filling in the marsh mellow. This is my view. But it has filling behind it. I think I showed the filling. ;)
If you don't like someone's view on your practice, then click the 'x'. You don't have to be here. And frankly, I really don't care if you are.
Well maybe you should explain yourself better next time instead of quoting psychology. And your last post, oh snap I better start questioning myself if I am to survive. Notice the sarcasm? And how am I rude when you call my thread needy? This thread was just meant to highlight a problem on this site and once again a so called "Knowledgeable Witch" turned it into something it is not. If this is the way we treat each other when one of us just tries to explain something then I fear for the future people who come here looking for advice. Instead their just gonna smart ass people. I COULD name a few people but that is not what this post is about. People who think it is okay to "teach" us what magic really is even though they use harsh words and are very degrading. I don't NEED anything. I just WANT people to start respecting each other but I guess that is never gonna happen because certain individuals (again I could name a few) can't get the stick out of their buts.
