I have a theory as to how the mind (both conscious and subconscious) opporates. The idea for this comes from the layout of Dante Aliguieri's work The Inferno (from his grand work The Divine Comedy). I understand that scientists world wide have already unlocked "the secrets of the human mind", but this is slightly different. This theory is based on the seven chakras (DISCLAIMER: any use of the seven chakras was used from the entry "Chakra-in Wikipedia the Free Encyclopedia, I DID NOT create any detail from these, and credit goes to the respectable authors and resources)
With this there is the chance that you could be able to enter the innermost chambers of your subconscious mind. Now let us begin, the first three rings are the Muladhara the Base Chakra.
It all begins with the First Ring, the Darkness Before the Dream. You see this region every time you close your eyes. This land is shrouded in illusions, strange flashes and sparks fill the darkness with enchantment and mystery. The only color is here is red, for this is the color of the first chakra. To pass this ring you must open your mind's eye.
The Land of Fleeting Dreams is the second ring, and is easy to enter since whenever you open your inner sight to what you wish to see (visualization), you have crossed into this realm. To pass this ring, you must forget the outer world, and allow time, sound, and light to wash away.
Next is the Crimson Ocean of Dreams, where reality does not exist, and where you have lost all control of what you experience. The Muladhara is the chakra of one's innermost desires, and hense you see what you yearn to see in these three rings. This is second hardest ring to pass, for to pass it you must use the skill of Lucid Dreaming, and find the key to your creativity as well as to your stability, for hidden within this key is the Red Lotus, the key to going beyond the third ring. With this key you must the door that you yourself signify as the border between your creative potential and your greatest desire. If you can find this border, and use the Red Lotus to open it, then you are well on your way to reaching the Ninth Ring.
Next, the Fourth Ring, is the Swadhisthana, the Sacral Chakra. This chakra was built upon your earthly temptations, as well as the impulses that impact your regular routine and rituals that you carry out with on a daily basis. The key to this region is the Vermillion Lotus, which is hidden within the one thing that governs everything you do everyday. The pass this region, you must find the border between everything that you are and all compells you to be who you are. This boundary will lead you to the next chakra and the next ring.
After the Swadhisthana is the Manipura, the Solar Plexus Chakra, the Fifth Ring and the third of the seven chakras. This is where you create all that makes you an individual, as well as where all spiritual changes take place. The key to this land is the Golden Lotus, which resides within the one thing (physical, spiritual, or qualitative) you have that no one possesses. To go forward you must find the border between what you love about yourself, and what you love about all else.
Next is the Anahata, the Heart Chakra, this is your emotional core, where all emotions both simple and complex form. The key to this region, the Jade Lotus, will be hidden within not what you desire most, but what you love most about everything in your world. To exceed this land, you must find the border between all that you feel, and all that you claim to feel. The border between emotion and expression of emotion.
Now we reach the seventh ring, the Vishuddha, the Throat Chakra. This chakra is the fifth, and governs expression. This is also the core of your independance, be very careful in this region, for not all expressions are expressions of the truth, and you may find your inner voice trying to trick you. The key to this realm is the one thing cannot say, the one secret that you hold so close to your heart that not even your closest friends and family can hear. This secret finding the Azure Lotus, which will allow you to open the next gate, which is the border between all that you know, and that you remember ever knowing.
Now you have reached the sixth chakra, the eighth ring, the last physical ring, and the Ajna, the Brow Chakra. This is the Land of Hidden Knowledge, where old memories are locked away adn new ones are brought into creation. This is also where you draw in the five sences creating all that you experience (so that memories can be created). The world around you in this land will try to enclose you with reality, creating harsh and powerful lies to shock you back into consciousness, and you must not deny what you are told, but instead accept it and proceed calmly or else all that you have experienced will be for naught. There is no door in this realm, only the key, the Midnight Lotus. This lotus is closed, and is source of all the harsh truths and lies that you hear. In order to exceed this realm, you must open the third eye (not the same as the mind's eye which you were to open earlier to pass the first ring). The third eye is inside the Midnight Lotus, and is closed. You must do two things here: First, to open the lotus you must confess of ALL of your wrongdoings, all your secrets, admit all your defeats, and profess your beliefs to the lotus, then you must envision the lotus turning white and growing a thousand pedals, and now envision the two pedals becoming an eye. Now to open the eye, you must open all five of the lotuses from before, the Muladhara, the Swadhisthana, the Manipura, the Anahata, and the Vishuddha. Awaken every corner of your soul, every corner of your mind, and every corner of your existence. To do this call forth the four corners in that very location, only instead of calling to the watchtowers of, you call to the lotuses. The east (air) is the Swadhistana for it is drives you like the wind drives the currents of the ocean, the south (Water) is the Muladhara for within it lies the Ocean of Dreams, driven by the winds of desire and impulse, the west (Fire) is the Manipura for it is where the soul expands as does the element of fire, and lastly there is the north (Earth) is Anahata, the heart chakra, which represents both the masculine and the feminine, and represents total balance like that in nature. Now there is the fifth, the tip of the pentacle, (Spirit) which is the Vishuddha. This is because the Vishuddha is the voice, the spirit of one's independance. Now that you have called the corners, the eye will open, and all of your world will be enveloped in dual light, both light and dark, kind and merciless, gentle and excrutiating, blinding and enlightening, all in one.
Welcome to the final ring, the final chakra, and the final destination of your journey. This place is known as the Sahasrara the Crown Chakra. The key in this region is the Platinum Lotus, which will open the door to all history, as well as to your past lives, learn to your own discretion, for there is both good and evil in the past, and some truths may overwhelm you if you are not prepared. When you are done, close every door that you opened, and close the circle born from calling the corners, or else knowledge, darkness, and light may still be able to come through, which can cause great harm to your well being.
These are the 9 Rings of the Innermind, and this is the key to reaching them, good luck to you all and blessed be.

I had tried to put up this post before, when I was Atraspiritus, but in the research I found myself going slightly insane, losing essential parts of my well being and mind, and as a result was driven to destroy many things that were prescious to me. I am still facing the reprecussions, and so I advise that you use this knowledge wisely. Also if you have any questions or comments, then speak, this is my first post in this coven and I would love to recieve feedback on my work.

Here's my issue with this theory...
The chakras don't all match with what we need to "over come" to get past the ring associated with them.

For example, you speak of 3 rings for the root in which you need to open your minds eye (we will ignore that the minds eye is sometimes associated with the brow or "3rd eye" chakra), visualization and lucid dreaming.

The root or base chakra is not associated with any of these things and would actually be counter productive to work use these things while working with it.
The root is about being in the now, security, being grounded, feeling at home and comfortable in situations, ect.
To open your minds eyes, visualize and perform lucid dreaming take away from the key principal behind this chakra.

The sacral is about sexual desires and the ability to express emotion in a balance manner without leaning toward any one side of the spectrum.
The solar plexus is about self confidence.
The heart you have partially correct. It's about emotion, but specifically love (unconditional), trust, kindness, affection, all the positive associations with the human emotion.
I'll give you the throat, but I question when you say that the inner voice "may try to trick you". Your inner voice does not trick you. It is a part of you and to say it would trick you would be to say you trick yourself. If anything, it brings out all thoughts and ideas you have...good bad and indifferent.
The brow is about intuition and seeing beyond what is there. I'm not sure about your methods to opening this, but I question the purpose of calling anything to achieve it.
Finally, the crown is about your own divinity and your closeness with the divine. The ability to see past lives could be more closely associated with the brow than the crown in my opinion.

I'm all for theories and pushing ourselves to think, however I am confused as to how you came to the conclusions you did about these chakra associations as they seem to not match up for the most part.

Thank you for your input, it really helps, and I will definitely need to make revisions and the inner voice by tricking you is actually to protect you, for crown chakra contains powerful knowledge that can overwhelm you, and thus tries you steer you away, and I will need to revise my theory based on base chakra, and I was trying by the way, to connect the levels with the ones easiest to access to the hardest to access, and since the base is the first chakra I made it the easiest to enter (having it be the darkness from when you close your eyes since it is the easiest to do, and then working forward to the most difficult (all the complex things you have to do in the Ajna to reach the Sahasrara, the end goal. Thank you for telling me straight, for I am actually new to all the domains and meanings behind the chakras and this was just a rough draft to get my ideas out there, and thanks to your input I can make revisions and make a final draft.

9 times out of ten the "little voice" is your intuition talking and it does everything but trick you. It's pretty darn accurate to say the least and people should listen to it more often. What screws you up is when you listen to your head and over riding that gut feelings.

Alright, I have gathered a few sources, one of which the Chakra thread from our very own Deep Arts, and am ready to use these revisions to make the official guide to: the 9 Rings, the 7 Chakras, and the passing from one ring to another.

Before you write this theory, I would suggest taking time to test it out. With your admittance to not fully knowing or understanding the chakras in the first place, it makes the theory based on an idea more than on an experience, which is fine, but you may find experiencing it to be far more valuable than just talking about it ;)

Take the time to really explore each chakra, then develop a theory.

Agreed. Most of my theories come from years of exploring different areas and working with them to prove them to be for the most part spot. Mine do not come from text books or anyone else's ideas. However when doing most of my research I took an idea and worked with it to come up with my own. Either i happened to agree with them or come to realize they was way off base.

Alright, I will try it out, and thank you so much RashnuX for letting me know what you think on my theories, it really helps me stay on my toes and dive deeper into my research to answer your questions and support my ideas.
