Candles

Hi,

I have some white candles, and one pink candle. For a spell that I want to do, it involves two pink or red candles. Now, since I only have ONE pink candle, could I possibly substitute the 2nd pink candle with a white candle? Or would that mess up the results of the spell?
Oh and it's an easy love spell that's on this site, if that helps any. =)
I'm hoping that I can do this spell in the future, as I'm probably not ready for it yet. Also, my parents or any of my family members don't know of my magick abilities or of this site, so it's almost impossible to get ingredients for anything. So you can understand, when I found a do-able spell that only consisted of paper, pen, matches and candles, I got siked. =) But candles are rare here, too, so all the help I can get is good.
I have been told that birthday candles are alright...is that true?
Thanks!!

I've heard that you can substitute a white candle for any other color.
Birthday candles should be all right too -- what's a spell but a very elaborate wish, and birthday-cake wishes used to be a kind of spell or prayer to Artemis.

But it depends why you think it's important... so you know what can be substituted and what can't be used in your spells. If it's not for Artemis or any gods, is a candle a kind of "battery" for your will as it melts, or is it because you use the four elements in a candle (solid wax as earth, liquid wax as water, flame as fire, smoke as air)?
