Need help, claim nothing

hey guys, im not gonna come on here and say "im new to wicca, i want to do spells!"i read threads like that and go pffftt! im gonna say im interested in it, not because it makes me different but because i believe in it. But if i ask one of my friends who is wicca ( for not very long and probably know nothing ) i dont think it will help. i want to know where to start and is there anything i should know before i start. im not gonna claim im a witch or im wicca, because im not. you guys that have been studying the art for like multiple years are and i dont want to come barging in and say i can do stuff because i cant. im being honest please help me to get started.

You can call yourself a Wiccan, pagan, or a witch if you are going to get into it. Just becuase you call yourself one of these doesn't mean we expect a certain amount of knowledge from you.

^^ Two links to the same site. the 1st link i think i will help you the second link is the homepage.

I Suggest to do as much reading and research as you can before hand if your interested in it, that's what i did. Find what appeals to with it and most importantly follow your heart. "take a dip in the cauldron" which means to get your feet wet. when you know more about it try it out and if thinks dont work out then that's alright because its all about finding whats best for you.
Blessed be~

Hi there, I’ve been practicing Wicca for a good many years now and one of the first questions that comes up is the one about where to start. My suggestion is always to start by doing some reading and studying to make certain that you understand what Wicca is really all about, and so that you can then decide whether this is truly the path that you want to follow. So with that in mind I thought I would offer some books and websites that are full of sound I information which can help you get started on your path.

To start with, here are some books that I would suggest.

"A Witch Alone" by Marian Green
"The Elements of Ritual" by Deborah Lipp
"Witchcrafting" by Phyllis Curott
"21st Century Wicca" by Jennifer Hunter
"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman
"When, Why...If" by Robin Wood
"Practical Pagan" by Dana Eilers
"Wicca; A Year and a Day" by Timothy Roderick

You can also find the recommended reading list that my coven uses at: http://www.tangledmoon.org/reading_list.htm

Here's some websites that you may find useful in helping you with questions.

http://www.tangledmoon.org (this is my own coven site.)

Hope this helps you get a good start on your studies. And feel free to ask me, or the others here on the board if you have any specific questions we can help you with.
