Earth Element:

Posted by CorpseAngel (July 20, 2009)

Element of Earth. The source and provider of all our needs. Represents sensations, decay, patience, stability, strength, health, warmth and comfort, animals and animal instincts, farming and physical labor. A high Earth person seems a practical sort and quite ''down to earth''. A hard worker, stable and a good provider. Can be a little too stubborn sometimes however. A low Earth person can seem confused, insecure and alone, unable to feel wanted and the work may be affected.
Earth Magick can involve the use of herbs and plants. Using the correct herb to attain your desire along with the other tools can be very effective. Burying something and making some offerings to the Earth such as planting trees is a form of Earth Magick. Using your gems or crystals and burying them in the Earth under the appropriate tree while making your wish is also effective. Another type which is considered Earth Magick is any type of routine magick. Anything you do on a routine basis can be used as a magickal vehicle. While performing something you do at the same time everyday, prepare yourself and use this period for clarity on a subject, figure the best course of action in a situation or to find just where you are in the course of your life.

The Air Element

Posted by CorpseAngel (Jul 20, 2009)
:

People born under the astrological signs of Libra, Gemini and Aquarius are thought to have dominant air personalities. Air personalities tend to be kind, intellectual, communicative, social, and helpful. However, they can also be cold, superficial, impractical and very insensitive to other people's emotions. Air represents mental activity, thoughts, reason and intellect, memory, knowledge, persuasion, birth and friendship, freedom, clarification and expression. A low Air person seems without any direction and unable to define or visualize any future and can not reason out the alternatives and objectives. A high Air person is at ease in complex situations and can sit and think things through, and can carry through with decisions.
Different types of Air Magick include Visualizations. An important tool in any magick work, it makes the events happen. For this type, it is important that all the other factors such as color, time, the moon phase, winds, etc. are all in balance. And to have the other tools working such as incense and candle burning, or even the right tea or wine to drink in the background. This is because you need to ''fix'' or ''ground'' the images or ideas you are using in your visualization.
As our thoughts are extremely powerful, as are our Words. Words can be put together in such a way as to form spells, or used in channeling your power. Words give rise to our desires and can be released upon the winds for attainment. Created and repeated with intensity and concentration the spoken word is a powerful magick in itself. You do not have to be an accomplished linguist, just a simple sentence will do. It creates an atmosphere of concentrated awareness and strength. Words can be used in moments of stress and fear, and will create the magick itself. It does not have to be said aloud, say them to yourself if need or want be. Another Air Magick is Mirror Magick, It can help in overcoming inner problems and also help with difficult personal decisions. It uses both the Word and Visualization forms and can also aid in being able to visualize a future event. Sometimes, used as a Scrying Tool, in which you are able to ''see'' possible future events.

Flame Meditation:

Posted by Chaotic_Evil (Sep 19, 2010)
:

Method One:

1. Light a candle and stare at the flame for 2 minutes. Make sure your attention does not wander.

2. Close your eyes and place your hands in relaxed cupped position, palms over your eyes and concentrate on the imprint of the flame in the darkness. The image will tend to move across your area of vision. Keep looking for it and bring it back and keep concentrating on it for four mintues.

3. Relax and empty your thoughts and tune into your breathing for a few minutes, concentrating only on each breath

What this exercise does:
This exercise prepares the mind for one-pointed concentration, which is so important to any psychic/astral workings. With the average person, thoughts are scattered and dissipate into nothing. With the trained mind that can concentrate intensely, the thoughts are single-pointed and focused like a laser and have power. 100% concentration makes the difference in astral workings. One's will is also developed with this exercise as a powerful will does not give into distraction. Do not become frustrated or impatient with yourself. It is normal for thoughts to creep in to distract you in the beginning. Total concentration takes time and is one of the most difficult aspects of training the mind.

Method Two (intermediate):

1. Focus on the flame for several minutes

2. Close your eyes and place your hands in relaxed cupped position, palms over your eyes and concentrate on the imprint of the flame in the darkness. The image will tend to move across your area of vision.

3. Keeping your eyes closed, try to enter the imprint. You will find the imprint begins to compact and change color. The bright image will change to pink, then to red and grow dark.

4. Repeat the exercise if you wish.

What this exercise does:
This exercise trains the mind and third eye to direct psychic energy.

Fire Magick

Here is a Lesson on Fire Magik.

Fire in many ancient cultures and myths has been known to purify the land with the flames of destruction; however, it is also capable of the renewal of life through the warmth and comfort of those very same flames. Fire represents passion, enthusiasm, desire and courage, force, lust, fertility and virility, initiative and rejuvenation. It represents both light and heat. The light of intelligence and the courage to follow it. A low fire person is usually cold, slow to act, without enthusiasm for life or himself. A high fire person is bold, dramatic and passionate in all areas within himself, however this person must be careful as fire can destroy everything in it's path. Fire magick can bring on the new, bring on courage and passion and destroy the old. Fire magic is not just a flame that burns, Fire like any element has a heart and soul, it is a force which burns those who do not treat it as it should. Fire is a element that must be loved and worshiped like one of your own children, In order to control the element of fire like any other element one must understand that a Element will not react to just anyone who wishes to use it
The different types of Fire Magick are Bonfire Magick, which usually involves burning something such as an herb or flower, or a piece of paper or petition on which you have written your desire. It is used for banishing, ridding or destroying negative influences in your life. Another is Candle Magick, a simple, easy and useful method in bringing about your desires. A color for the candle is chosen and can also include the correct scent in relation to your desire and lit sometimes for up to seven days. This type of Fire Magick is usually for any type of desire.
Another is Sun Magick. Using the Sun in our desires is a beautiful way in which to enhance new beginnings in love, health, work and home, awaken subtle powers and aid in attraction desires.

Sign: Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are normally the Signs associated with the Element of Fire.

The Fire Element:

Posted by XxRubyxX (Apr 06, 2010)
:

I was asked to do a post on this from nightterror so I hope it's okay that I am doing so.

The path I follow is that of Spiritual Satanism, in this path we learn to invoke and work with the elements, along with many other things too.
Some of us may choose to contain the element into our soul, or breathe it back out into the akasha.
I'm writing this from memory so some of the information may be a bit off.
Each and every single one of us no matter our path may work with and invoke the elements, but I ask that all of you proceed carefully with this if you choose to do it and build up to this.

One breathing exercise that I do that helps me with fire is called the breathe of fire.
Basically what this is, pumping in your stomach real and hard and fast, most start off with 20, I worked myself up to doing 60 and will soon be doing 100.
I did think at first that this had little to no effects but lately have been proven wrong.
People always complain of cold temperatures or of a room being too warm, I feel otherwise and I don't understand why they say this.
Because for me I don't feel it, thanks to this exercise.

The instructions on how to invoke the fire element can be found here:
www.JoyofSatan.com->Meditations section.

By invoking fire we can learn to do what is known as pyrokinesis.
It's obvious that this can be dangerous.
I have tried pyrokinseis and have had no luck with it, the same as telekinsis.
Practice makes perfect though.

My own personal experiences with the fire element have been:
.Depression.
.Insomnia.
.Feeling very energtic the next day and not understanding why until thinking back to the invocation I did the day before.

All elements are to be worked with and to be understood, I am soon to be balancing all elements that are in my soul.
As human's, we have 5 elements.
Spirit, fire, water, air and Earth with fire and water being the main ones to my knowledge.

Modern withcraft such as the wiccan/pagan traditions.

Fire being associated with south/north for the southern hemisphere
The summer.
Color red on the physical plane.
Athame/ or ceremonial dagger this is also an air correspondant.
The sword.
Blood, candles, rubies, incense, inspiration, passion and masculinity.
Pentagram is the lower right point.
Astral creaters salamander, phoenix, dragon and hawk sometimes.
Tarot suit of wands, some wiccans associate it with the swords.
Rituals represented by burning objects, love spells, lighting candles, fires, baking.
Colors, red, orange, yellow, and sometimes black.

Fire element people most often, are warm ,radiant, trust in lifes journeys, take risks, spontaneous, act on instinct, sometimes reckless, follow their intution, passionate, but sometimes get frustrated by mundane duties and chores.

Blessings.
Ginseng.

Oh I also want to add to this as a follow up considering I just invoked fire for the 6th time the other night, and this is one of the reasons why I say be careful!

What happened was, was that I felt very depressed and moody without understanding why.
Last night was very restless, I didn't sleep til the early hours of the morning and even then I was moving around a lot.
I also woke up crying in the middle of the night for no real reason.
Just because you may not feel the effects like I did when I first invoked it straight away, does not mean that you won't feel it later.

Pyrokinesis

Posted by ShadowKilo (Oct 21, 2009)
:

This is a basic pyrokinesis practice, something to help get you started.

What you will need: lighter/match, candles(preferably more then one), energy, concentration, patience, and stillness(little/no movement in the room).

Set the candle(s) in front of you and light one, just one. Place your hands on both sides of the flame, close enough for you to feel the heat without getting burned. Focus your energy into the flame and the flames energy into you, as some would say ''become one with the flame,'' and keep your mind clear of all other thoughts.

Now, visualize that single flame moving. First one way, then another, in circles, then reverse the circles, it doesn't matter which ways you move it first. Keep yourself calm and relaxed while you do this. Be patient and keep visualizing, willing the flame to move as you want it to, until it moves exactly as you want it to.

Once you have managed this with one candle, light another and move on to moving two with the same steps as mentioned before except that you would be visualizing two flames instead of one. After successfully doing this with multiple candles move on to bigger flames, but only if you are capable of doing so safely. Small bonfires, torches, etc. Remember that in all practice sessions, safety is very important. Be careful not to burn yourself, other people, or buildings.

One safety precaution that uses pyrokinesis is to put the flame out using your mind. To do this, simply visualize the flame disappearing. Whether it ices over, dissipates into the air, or simply extinguishes, putting it out with your mind is a very handy skill to have in case things get out of mundane control.

A very good safety precaution to take regardless of your level, and one I urge all of you to do no matter how good you think you are, is to keep plenty of water and/or a fire extinguisher nearby. Even if only working with a candle, fires can be dangerous and if you learn how to manage it with your mind there is the risk of it building up to a size that no candle could reach mundanely. Be safe and have fun.

Breaks between steps/attempts are acceptable so long as you do not give up. Some people find it easier to do after asking their spirit guides and the fire spirits for help. Good luck.

Elements

Posted by Ventulus on Feb 18, 2011

In many traditions there are five main elements.
-Air
-Fire
-Water
-Earth
-Spirit

A pentagram (Five pointed star) holds these elements. Every person is made up of all of these elements. Though some people lean more toward one element, or many depending on the person.
The zodiac signs do not dictate what your element is. One can be drawn to the element of their sign element though.
The zodiac signs do not use spirit for any of the sings. Here is a list of the zodiac signs and which element it falls under.

Air:
-Gemini
-Libra
-Aquarius
Fire:
-Aries
-Leo
-Sagittarius
Water:
-Cancer
-Scorpio
-Pisces
Earth:
-Taurus
-Virgo
-Capricorn

Alright, something often befuddles me, why is it that no one ever mentions the other sets of elements (the elements of other cultures), like the Wu Xing: Fire, Wood, Earth, Metal, and Water? Or the dozens of Alchemical Elements, or the Chinese Elements (apparently not the same as the Wu Xing though I'm sure the name Wu Xing is Chinese): Gold, Wood, Water, and Fire. The point is, it is kind of aggravating that I cannot find them anywhere while we offer knowledge of all paths, and yet one major culture group is seriously neglected, meanwhile everyone else just chants Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Fire, Water! There is more to it, and though I like the information of this thread, there is a serious cultural gap that I think needs to be considered (even cameoed) but not forgotten altogether.
