Write a Short excerpt on your favorite Tool of your craft, and how you use it not only in daily life, but in ritual as well.

My favorite tool is my Wand. The wand signifies Air, thought, spring, youth and is usually associated with the East. Some traditions do associate it with fire, by from what I feel, this is really an air tool for me. When I feel really down, I'll meditate with the wand to feel that revitalizing energy flow through me again and lift my spirits. I also use this when writing things like these lessons, as well as writing short stories or just random articles. My wand helps me restore a natural balance within myself and helps me get rid of writers block. I use my wand in ritual more often than my athame, not only for invoking the elements, but for calling the quarters as well.

The wand has always held a deep symbolism to me and reminds me all the time that Thought needs to come before action. Thought is where everything begins, and moves forward from. It also reminds me that even though I'm a thought based person, time doesn't wait and everyone has to keep moving. My wand is made of lightening struck oak, blessed in earth and water and for me is of the air. I also decorated it myself and love the feel of the energy that is also circulating and moving through it.

My favorite tool is my pentacle. It is special because I made it myself. I put alot of love and energy into it. Every time I see it, which is quite often because it is in the middle of my alter which is set up in my living room, it keeps me focused on my beliefs and how free I feel because of Wicca.

Blessed Be,
Dessi

My favorite tool was a black crow feather that I found, that I would use in spells and any ritual but it seems to have dissappered in the cosmos was on my alter then then the next day it was gone cant find it anywhere :/

I have now learned to do any spells or rituals without it now...so my next favorite tool would be my box that I painted black on the outside with a sliver triquetra symbol painted on top in silver and the inside of the box painted in red which I keep my runes stones and my goddess stones in and any other things that have special meaning to me.
I also have two paintings that I done hanging above my alter one is a blue handled dagger and white blade surrounded by flames and my other painting is the kanji symbols for unity of will.

sometimes I will just sit with my box before a meditation and have a look through the things that I have placed in it, I use my goddess stones to form a pentacle shape around me in a spell or ritual as I prefer that to drawing one.

I'm hoping one day I will be able to find a perfect condition crow feather again as I did before..but unless It appears before my path again i'll just have to go with what I have for the moment...my mind :)

My tool of choice would have to be the stang, though tools are not universally used in Trad Craft most of us have a penchant for shiny things.

The stang is a forked staff, either naturally occurring in a branch of wood, or made from a straight branch with an iron fork or horned animal skull fixed to the top. Ash is a traditional wood but my stang is made from a length of blackthorn, which is a traditional wood for West Country witches to use, with an iron foot and head which were forged in Cornwall.

It is used in a ritual context to hallow the compass (like casting a circle with some notable differences in method and purpose) and is driven into the ground in the north to symbolise the presence of Auld Hornie, (a title for the tutelary male deity we work with).

The other main purpose is in 'riding the stang', which is a term for shamanic soul flight in which the stang becomes a symbol for the world tree.

My favorite tool of the craft is my cauldron. I chose my cauldron because it's a gift that I got from my dad. Also, it represent the womb of the goddess. Other than that, I always use my cauldron for about anything like buring candles to burning incense. I just love my cauldron, it means something to me. And also, the cauldron reminds me of the story of Cerridwen.

if you guys are enjoying these kinds of assignments please let me know, and I'll start making more of these. I'm seeing that some of you have a good understanding at this point, but I also see a lot of people not posting at all. I understand busy lives, and school, but posting once a week shouldn't be to hard (there are exceptions and the few that are exceptions know that I know because they've talked to me). If you guys need extra time to work on these things also let me know. I'm trying to stimulate activity in this coven. It's a teaching coven for a reason, if you aren't willing to learn then tell me and I will remove you, or you can remove yourself.

I love these assignments. They give me things to really think about and be a real active part in my lerning. I also feel that I am doing better with my studies because of the communication.
