well im sry but everything that i just said is the truth from scripture.

well, evil_gunthix...

im sry if ive offended u but im simply stating wut i believe. not trying to change you or anyone here. im defending myself. i apologize if thats bothered u. no need yell at me....

and to variados...

im sry, but like i said. God made us because no one was praising Him and he wanted to be praised. it sounds crass but its absolutely true. but dont get me wrong, He is a God of goodness. He will deal justice to those deserved, and He will forgive ALL those who ask forgivness [including those who do or hav done magick, as long as they REPENT [which means not only asking forgivness but promissing never to do it again...] ] there is a single unforgivable sin. only one. remember that.

>>ok i dont know how many of u guys r still reading this but ur a bit...off.

Christianity has an innate complex. believers therein are obligated to be humble. yet at the same time, they are obligated to convert others. they are obligated to use the fear of death and Hell as a way to save people from it. yet, they always come off as being self-important, rude, and thinking all else is wrong.

BUT wut people on here keep missing is that Christians respected other religions very much.

Except, of course, that they are obligated to get rid of the other religions by converting others, like trying to use kabbalah to convert jews by saying it showed christian teachings, which makes christianity the end result of judaism. But, we aren't really caring about that sort of stuff, are we? We shouldn't let logic enter into any of this.

>>everyone on this sight always goes back to "torturing other religions."

im sure u all are familiar with the term "heresy." it means a faith that conflicts major, undoubtable points in Christianity. such as Christs divinity.

You do realize that at one point, Christianity was a cult, right? It wasn't always the size it is now.

>>well, that is wut the muslims doubted, and they shouted it on high.

the thing that people miss is that the church didnt believe it to be a new religion. they believed it a be a mass blaspheme.

And this is where part of that *respect* thing comes in, right?

'We respect your views, but we think you're dumb and it's our obligation to make you see things our way. And we can even use threats of eternal pain and torture, if you don't come to our side.'

You don't even realize what you're typing or thinking, do you?

>>the Bible says to kill the heretic. not to kill other religions. i hope that helps yall to understand...

Oh, yeah. See, it's much easier to burn the other side' books and remove all their views when you don't have people around that believe them.

>>im sry if ive offended u but im simply stating wut i believe. not trying to change you or anyone here. im defending myself. i apologize if thats bothered u.

You're defending the idea of using religion to be used for intolerence.

i will answer to each of ur thoughts, ashsmith

first, yes, the idea of Christianity is to get rid of other religions. the big picture is to try to hav the whole world Christian, just like God's kingdom will be. which leads us to convert as many as we can.

i couldnt tell if u wer being sarcastic or wut bout the logic part, but logic is essentially a part of wisdom (and probably the largest part). the other part is knowledge, and both are essential to our judgement of scriptures and current events, etc.

and yes, of coarse Christianity was a cult. there were i believe 200 Christians or so after Jesus rose. thats all. and they became a hated cult because during comunion when the "ate the body and blood of Jesus" with ONLY believers there, people thought that they sacrificed some guy every service and ate him. that was one constant charge against Christians. they also all called each other brother and sister, yet they kissed (on the cheek, nothing sexual) during the comunion and they married within the church so people thought it was a Christian thing to marry one's brothers and sisters. etc....

ok, well this next one is where u get a little...offensive.
u miss the point of wut i was saying earlier. yes Christians use that leverage and always claim to be right. but, imagine for a sec, wut if Christianity is true. wut if Christians wer the only ones who werent gona go to hell. the idea is if we dont convert someone, they perish eternally. every life we convince is a life we save. even the background of the American way of thought has this principle in it: there is no limit to the value of a life.

but, most Christians come accross as self-righteous, becuz they probably are really cocky. thats not how it supposed to be. just fyi. and btw, Christianity does not claim to be perfect. in fact, its one the the very few that (at least ideally) outrightly professes to be constant sinners.

yes, i do realize wut im typing.

ur next comment (the easier to burn those who dont believe wut we do): well if that wer true Christianity would preach to kill all other religions. and no, it doesnt. the Bible says that there is a death penalty for heretics. and for those wondering, capital punishment is a Biblical thing: God will do justice, and the just thing for a man who has murdered is for his life to be taken as well. Heresy is probably one of the worst crimes available in God's eyes. not sure if its the worst tho.

I have a comment for terra. You said that ur God created all things on this earth. I don't believe that ever happened. I was brought up as a Baptist but never believed that the creation thing happened. I have been a witch for almost 10yrs. I don't believe that this earth was created the way it says in the first book of the lieing bible. I love the wicca way. I am a believer in the evloution theroy. The scientific proof is what I want that the earth was created by a God. If it can't be proved by science then I have a hard time believeing it. I don't believe that the world will end like the lieing last book of the bible. If you want to preach about how everyone should become a christian then you won't find many witches who will convert to that religion. I did go to church when I was a child but hated hearing the lies. I only went because I had no say as to stay home or go. I was baptized but now regreted that happening. I am a witch and will always be one. So please stop telling all of us about the christian way. We know about it and don't want to hear it.

I didn't realize that there was more posted to the thread.

>>first, yes, the idea of Christianity is to get rid of other religions. the big picture is to try to hav the whole world Christian, just like God's kingdom will be. which leads us to convert as many as we can.

And whatever happened to 'love thy neighbor'? Is there an additional segment no one told me of that says '...only if thy neighbor thinks the way we do'?

>>ok, well this next one is where u get a little...offensive.

[facepalm]

Man, that is ironic. You find what I said offensive, yet you have no problem using your religion as an excuse to try to convert those that don't think like you and in the other thread to be bigotted against gays.

>>btw, Christianity does not claim to be perfect.

Except they feel that their way is so 'perfect' that everyone else is gonna burn, if they don't convert.

>>ur next comment (the easier to burn those who dont believe wut we do): well if that wer true Christianity would preach to kill all other religions.

A distinction without a difference when you say christians are required to convert others because they feel other people will burn, if they don't. If everyone else was turned, the other religions are killed by becoming nothing more than a historical footnote and intellectual curiosity.

>>i didnt hav any idea wut u meant by that. it was really vague...

"You're defending the idea of using religion to be used for intolerence."

There is no clearer english, even if I used vulgarity.

I have a question. Why is it that all the people who have spoken with God lived thousands of years ago? Take Moses. He goes up a mountain, has a chat with God, who then gives Moses the ten commandments. Nobody went up the mountain with Moses; so there are no witnesses. But the commandments are the words of God. How do we know this? Because Moses said so.
If such as Moses said such things in modern times he would be escorted to the nearest mental hospital. As would all the others who have "spoken with God".
To me, God is the Natural world. All the claims of "God" seem to me a bit of fantasy.
