Thanks for that. I used to be so scared of this. I didn't know what was going on. I would always be in flight and I would come to a place in sleep where I was like "I can't fly", and I would start to fall. I've had this since I was about 6 years old that I can remember. I started reading about astral travel and I started to realize what I was doing. When I came to the realization that I was actually out of body, I stopped being scared and really enjoyed it. I am at the point now that when it happens, it's like just a part of me being who I am. I feel free, unchained and extremely happy. At this point, I land when I feel like it. The only thing I can't do, is actually astral project on purpose. I have been trying, but I just can't. My concentration is not very good. I do it at night when I'm asleep mostly, but I can't make myself relax enough to this on purpose. Anyone have any ideas?

I remember feeling like falling quite a few times and I'm glad I've stumbled onto this thread. Next time I guess I'll let my self go!

So last night was the first time i think i meditated successfully. After, i decided to sleep and when i was almost asleep, my whole body felt weird. It felt like there were pins all over my body or i couldn't stop shaking. I had my eyes closed and but i visualized a vast space that was mostly empty except for some fog. Then suddenly, I'm not sure what happened, I just felt as if i had to go out, I'm don't remember any feeling of falling as everyone else in this thread has said. But i did what I usually would do when i had nightmares, I willed myself awake and tried to move my body. But I was awake in my mind and was doubting whether I should explore farther or wake up. When I decided to wake up, I think I saw through my own physical eyes but my body moved slowly. Something felt as if it was pulling me back towards my dream, astral projection, or whatever it was. After like 5 more time of trying to wake up and going back to whatever it was, I finally woke up. Can someone tell me what i just experienced?

The falling sensation is generally a result of muscle spasms. When you start to go to sleep your body relaxes and sometimes you would get a spasm and because you are half asleep you don't realize it. It makes you feel as if you are falling, you get startled and wake up. If it happens on a daily basis it might mean you are exposed to too much stress. I'm not saying that's what it always is, just that it is a very common phenomena and that you should make sure it's not just that.

Last night, I was going to sleep and after 15 minutes on the bed, I closed my eyes. It felt as if suddenly after I close my eyes, i starting vibrating. Then I heard a high pitched noise that I know wasn't coming from outside. I let the vibration and the high pitched sound go on until it stopped. I felt like i was opening my eye but I couldn't see, I could only hear. Suddenly something moved my hand up and down on my bed. I tried to go against it but I couldn't. Then i remembered how there would be beings that would try to scare you in the lower astral realms and I was afraid at that time. I tried to go to a higher plane but I would not. Finally I gave up for the day and opened my eyes, then I found myself awake physically. Did I just experience astral projection? And right now I feel so unafraid because I feel as if I'm enlightened, but if this isn't enough what can I do to go to the astral realm? By the way, if anyone has been there, is there a library? I'd love to read.
