Reaper, your picture fits your post in many ways.

Glim, I do check the forums periodically, but I also have a life in the real world so often my replies may be delayed. I'll discuss the Guild of Mages topic either in the thread I have just created to give such knowledge to the public or continue the discussion in the private messages we now have going. For this thread, let's keep to the topic.

What you have described is not wizard specific. If you limit yourself to the word "wizard" in a community, you are also going to limit your knowledge. You'll learn more by letting go of such titles and simply choosing to learn about magick and spell casting in general. For that, there are many covens. For wizardry specifically I don't know who to recommend, but for knowledge here is a list.

Raven's Gate
Deep Arts
Higher Magicks
Path of the Shaman
Spirit Seers
Dragon Magick
Possibly Council of Earna, but I've heard that they've gone downhill since Faust was removed.

You'll find that in most serious covens you are expected to post at least once a month, at most three or four times a month, unless you have an excuse(such as only having access to the computer a few days of the month and not always being capable of browsing freely).

For a less serious coven, it's kind of sad to categorize it this way, but I would suggest any of the larger covens. I've noticed that the larger the coven the less removing they are of members; they monitor the member behavior less which means the members get away with more and stay longer. This often leads to newbs posting false information or inactive members simply raising the coven's popularity status. Naturally, not all of the larger covens are entirely bad nor do all suffer from the problem of newbs acting all-knowing, but seriously if you are here for information the one coven I urge you away from is Spell Casters. Everyone is put on the council and so often the "wise and all knowing masters" go there when the experienced priests and priestesses push them away(they see through the "master's" disguise).

Not really. I'd rather we stick to the point of this thread. However, if you desire a conversation between yourself and I, you are free to send me a message anytime you like.

Glim,

Your thread prompted me to join this forum. I am also looking for such a place. I do not call myself by any title for no other reason other than I have done nothing formal to train myself yet.

I have looked into the Grey School to get a "scholastic" approach into this mystical realm of belief, but I have not signed up yet. Have you?

Also, your profile could have been written by me. I also have noticed some inexplicable sense through the touch of old things. At times, when relaxed, I can become some what over whelmed by the "history" of old objects. Especially if I am standing in an old house.

I have not joined Grey School, although I might in due time(and when I have the money to do so). However I own the Grimoire for the Apprentice Wizard, as well as the Companion for it. I have found both of these books to be very informative. I have also quite a collection of other books(I'm kind of a knowledge person, a bit hard to figure out where to start these days).

Its good to hear that there are others out there like me. Funny you would say that about my profile, as it is the history thing has been a recent development. The aura thing has been going on for a couple years now for me.

If you find something, would be interested to know. I have thought about creating a coven, but that ability is not open right now. Soo, I figure I'll stay in the coven that I'm in now(Spellcasters) and make the best of it. Maybe even bring about some change for the better in there if possible.

Till later,
Glim

I seriously doubt Pet will allow anyone to make anymore covens for a LONG time...

If you were here during that short period (probably only a few weeks), covens were created everyday and deleted everyday by Pet due to the fact that they were "stupid"

I think he stopped people from making covens mainly because he didn't feel like going here everyday to approve 40 covens each day... And probably end up deleting at least 30 of them...
