How to fly on the broom

If we have power of magic,i ask myself can we fly or float on broom!!!!!
if anyone knows anything about it plz let me(us)know.

I think that was the hallucinogenic ointment they (medieval witches) put on the broom handle, that's also possibly poisonous or at least makes soft membrane tissue boil pretty painfully.
